They don't even look human with those distended guts and the dark tans.

i don't get that ugly fake looking tan thing either. on inside edition last night the did a piece on arnold's new job as editor of flex and M&F where they showed footage of him shaking jay cutler's hand at the Arnold. jay is a handsome guy with an impressive build but his skin was so dark it was ridiculous. do pros really need to cover themselves with ugly brown paint to look more muscular? how much difference in muscularity does it really make?

Does anybody remember the bodybuilding federation that Vince M. started? Lasted one show....bunch of costumes, stage production, fireworks and big bloated bodybuilders. Some guys opted out of their Weider contracts cuz they thought this was gonna be the next big thing. Then they had to go crawling back to weider when it took a big shit. I think pro bodybuilding will always have some legitamacy under weider cause it has history...keep it out of the olympics (we know it doesn't belong there) but bring back the emphasis on asthetics, proportion, symetry and posing...maybe add a strength element to pro shows?

If you are white; even with a natural tan you will still need to enhance a natural tan with a bronzer or paint. I have seen some competitions where a novice comes on stage without a tan or with only a natural tan and the stage lights wash out his cuts...believe it! With that said, there are right and wrong ways to apply bronzers and paints.

Yep, that was the WBF (world bodybuilding federation). It would have been great for the sport if Vince had planned it out better. He treated it like his wrestling shows, and the fans took that as a disrespect. The guys came out in cheesy costumes, etc. Lot's of top name guys went to the WBF because weider wasn't giving out fair contracts. Vince was giving some guys 350k a year just to do one show a year! All you had to do was show up in shape. When it folded, a lot of the guys went back the IFBB but Weider made them pay. Some had to pay fines, and others were given shitty placements as punishment. One of the WBF's "finest stars", Gary Strydom has said he is making a come back. He said he will not push the hgh and slin, and still have his tiny waist. And get this, he doesn't want to do the Masters O, he wants to do the regular shows. He is fairly young (40 I think), and if he comes in with a small tight waist, and is in top shape, it may just make people see how horrible todays guys look (except for guys like Dexter of course, who are always in shape).

btw, jp your avatar rocks .. its all about the 'PUMP!'

The greatest feeling you can get in a gym, or the most satisfying feeling you can get in the gym is... The Pump. Let's say you train your biceps. Blood is rushing into your muscles and that's what we call The Pump. You muscles get a really tight feeling, like your skin is going to explode any minute, and it's really tight -- it's like somebody blowing air into it, into your muscle. It just blows up, and it feels really different. It feels fantastic.-Arnold

Yeah, you need the pro tan to get on stage. The lighting is much different than it was even 20 years ago. Todays stage lighting will wash you out if you don't get sprayed with the airbrush, or use pro tan.
