I asked this question a few years ago to some of the guys at AF who were/had used Accutane, and they said it sort of helped. This is in regards to pore size....not zits.
I think with pore size, you are basically screwed, because I haven't found anything that will help shrink them. Obviously plastic surgery might, but I do not know much about that.
There are some good cleansers at the store you can get though. I like to just get this stuff at Wal-mart.
The one that the guy mentioned above....the "Noxzema...Triple Clean, antibacterial lathering cleanser" is my favorite. It has Triclosan in it and works well. It leaves your face feeling clean. It is a cream too. I just lather up a nickle size amount on my hand and apply it to various areas of my body while in the shower. I do this 1-2 times per day....usually for morning and night showers.
during the day, some use cleansers, but I do not. It will dry out my face too much.
I use 'Cetaphil' moisturizing lotion (fragrance and alcohol free and non-comedogenic) on my face and body after everytime I get out of the shower.
I also apply the Cetaphil to my face in the morning before I get into the shower. I shave my face in the shower, and it helps keep my skin moisturized, and I get a better shave. Afterwards, I have less razor burn as well. In the past, when my face was dried-out, it would get red looking and more razor burn.
I will also use a loofa (sp) EOD and exfoliate my skin at night in the shower to various parts of my body.
When I exfoliate, I like to use Neutragena's "Body Scrub" with Salicylic acid. The coarse texture and salicylic acid help clear the skin as well.
So....those are pretty much the only 2 things I use. I use Zest as my body soap though. I use Dial hand soap with Triclosan for my hands.
Vitamin B-5 at high doses may or may not work with acne and face clearance as well.
I will also use Noxzema's "Triple Action" cleaning pads every now and then as welll. Have to be careful not to use too much or skin will dry out. Also, you can get a "pad burn" if you rub too hard. They are effective. I'll sometimes use them on my shoulders before getting in to the shower....along with the nose and forehead areas.
There are many things like tanning that can make pore size worse too, but I still favor a good tan throughout the year at times.
I highly recommend a good moisturizing cream like Cetaphil though.
The pore size thing sux though...wish there was an answer.
