I usually drink a shake as soon as I get to my car when I finish workingout and drink my shake, but I was wondering, are you supposed to wait a little while or am I doing it right, like I always hear "The first half hour after you work out it is important to take in as much protein and some siple carbs to replenish your muscles" so does that mean wait about a half hour to drink the shake or what?

New evidence suggests that you can wait an hour, and still get the same benefits (Muscle Media), plus get additional fat burning effects from waiting that long. I usually wait at least 1/2 hour, then drink a blend of:

10g creatine
75g carbs
60g protein
 
I think the best way is to use the slamming technique immediatly after workout, the protein/carb meal 20-30 min later.
