Good Luck! Have fun and take pics ;)

yeah, that would go down well on my first session there, just whip the old camera out and start snapping

I mean like after....

BTW.. I've done quite a bit of grappling... and from what I gather your a big dude..

How the hell don't you get winded? I'd win 50% of my matches cause the other guy or gal just would tire out so easy and wasn't as limber. That and the fact that I'm just that damn good.. and I make mean faces and growl... the alkaseltzer foam also help distract them sometimes.

I don't get winded cause a good grappler/judo player uses their weight and leverages and technique rather than overpowering people.

also believe it or not I am pretty fit

Good luck! The face hitting issue is why I stick to mostly grappling. Six years of wrestling and Mongolian Wrestling when I was in college.

Thats how I was taught also ... esp since I'd go up against people twice my size... I'd be stupid to try to go strenght for strenght with them.. I had to rely on my breathing and keeping a constant heart rate along with technique.

Some people I guess just didn't get that and would try to strenght me into submission.

I can believe that you are... How about flexablility?

That's pretty crazy for a big guy like you. I came into this thread with a question about your flexibility but fristy beat me to it. So how do they partner you up in class and shit? I mean I would imagine you are at least 1/3 bigger than anyone else there?

Ive grappled with a women before. She looked pretty good. I was coppin all kinds of feels. We were also in the 69 position for a while

The words Tuc and fit should not be used in the same sentence, unless it's something like "Hey Tuc, how'd you fit thru the door?"

Who said I'd be breaking loose of anything? Having your legs wraped around me would be totally rad! Just don't squeeze, mmmmkay?

Pressure applied to inner quad with elbow = guard pops open easy as pie

Well that depends.. on the nerves there.

I've had that tried so many time.. that yes for a while it worked...

My choice of position is the guard.. mainly because I knew when going up against most of my opponents .. they were bigger and stronger than me and I couldn't nor would I expend energy trying to get them into the mount position.

There for I would immediately go for the guard... which put me in this position over and over again.. bruises like crazy from not breaking... to the point where they would pick me up and slam me down to force me to break.

I used to love powerbombing people who clung too desperately to their guard. Trick was to not just drop them, but to ball up fists and put them right on solar plexus to drive em' home on impact.

Yeah.. that shit hurts!

also hurts if you expect them to do that and don't tuck your head and they drop you!

I've been both on the giving and recieving end of that.

Meanie... LOL

It's actually called shuai-chiao but sometimes referred to as chinese or mongolian wrestling. Inner and Outer Mongolian wrestling are two seperate arts. An eight time Chinese national champion actually taught the class.

Shuai Chiao is considered the oldest form of Chinese kungfu. It is mentioned as "Chiao Ti" in texts that refer back over 3000 years. Shuai Chiao literally means "Throwing - Horns": the earliest fighters were reputed to have worn horned helmets, and the rapid open arm movements of the style made the powerful movements appear like a clash of horned beasts. Shuai Chiao was considered basic training for soldiers in China for thousands of years. The art is designed for survival in the chaos of the battlefield - - powerful throws and strikes, but little ground fighting, since struggling down on the ground could be fatal with multiple attackers. Over the centuries, Shuai Chiao has stayed true to its roots, while gaining sophistication. Modern Shuai Chiao is often called "the practical application of Tai Chi Chuan," with the same evasive techniques: blending with, then overcoming, an attacker's force. While the emphasis for beginning student is on the throwing methods, Shuai Chiao students also practice punching and kicking. Most of the classic throws are demonstrated from a punching, kicking, or grabbing attack, and use "chin-na" joint grasping or locking techniques instead of depending on a grip on a jacket. These characteristics make this ancient art a very effective form of self-defense in modern times.

You think that's mean? I'll tell you what's mean. I used to wear a super heavyweight grappling Gi that I thoroughly soaked with water beforehand. Then, I'd get top position, lay my chest on opponent's head/face, and wrap the Gi around their head entirely and hold that position for the first couple of minutes of the match. So, they'd have the weight of my chest crushing their head and they'd be trying to breathe through very thick and waterlogged cotton. This is not an insignificant task when already somewhat fatigued and in a hot gymnasium or arena during the summer months. I'd just rest and watch the clock tick down for a couple of minutes, doing just enough messing with an arm or wrist to look like I was working, and then when I was sure the person on bottom would be groggy, I'd work like hell to get the submission. Dirty pool, but it was super effective. :)

nice!

I took a mixed martial Arts so.. I never used the grappling Gi.. nor did my opponent. I only grappled a few black belts with the gi and its not as easy to grab a hold of.. thats for sure. thick as hell and I can only imagine it full of water.

the worse thing I think I've ever done is during a Self defense testing... when pushed to my limits and knowing it was an all out defend yourself session.. I was held down by two men and my only out was a groin twist and grab.. which when warned my opponent gladly tapped out.. the other was biting.. I had no other attack planed that could work... he had me in full mount and was pinning me down like you just described... full weight on my face...

Before the test we were told to do what it took to get out... if it were something out of the norm then we had to warn our attacker and it was their call as to weither they wanted to submit or not...

Well I warned him that I was about to chomp down on him and .. no joke.. gnaw him till he got up... I don't think he believed me... Until I dug into him and drew blood.. I had by then had him tightly in my guard and my arms tightly around him using what he at first had as an advange against me.. now turned against him...

I felt pretty bad after and apoligized for taking a chunk out of him.. but then.. he knew before hand, and the whole time they were throwing me around the mat.. cursing me.. striping me down to the last bit of will I had to fight back.. they didn't flinch.

So hell.. he had coming to him what he deserved... that little prick... LOL

I'd have slipped a thumb over your eye and told you to go ahead and bite down...'patch' :cyclops:

Well I am sure they wanted to.. LOL Now.. the time in question I'd done lowered my body so that his guard was high.. his hands were used to stop me from bucking him over and thats when I tightend my guard and pulled up tightly and bit down.. a minute at least.. passed between me warning him and me doing it... so.. still caught him off guard.

They were to attack me as a person knowing and thinking outside of their skills...

It was a rape attack.. their one concren was getting my clothes off.. and raping me. my only concern was blocking their foul language, not letting the verbal abuse get to me and getting out of the situation the quickest way possible. We were broke up a few times after I'd completed my technique.. and the they were told to attack again before I'd even mad it to my feet.

Now remember.. at the time I wasn't nearly as strong as I am now.. about 20lbs lighter.. One of my attackers was 6'2 235lbs. and the other was 6'0 at least 190ish... I got my ass thrown around for a while... and left full of bruises... OUCH!

I used to teach women's self defense as a summer job, and we'd do attacks in protective suits and headgear/faceshield so the girls could strike at us with reckless abandon. We went hard on them, because obviously the closer you can simulate a real attack the more they will get out of the experience. That job really opened my eyes...I never realized just how high a percentage of girls have been raped. Could always tell when you were attacking a girl who had been raped: they'd either break down and quit, or they'd get an adrenaline rush and go completely apeshit with that 'crazy' strength.

IMO its a must for every woman.. it really opens your eyes to what it takes to defend against an attacker.. not only physical but mental. I've seen many of women and men freeze up just by being verbally assulted. Its good to be tested from all means and as real a scenerio as possible.

yeah i really wish more people especially females learned some form of self defense...

I made my wife take 6 months of Kenpo, from the guy who trained me from age 5-19. I found it almost impossible to keep her attention when I tried to train her, but she HAD to pay attention during his classes.

It doesn't make her bulletproof, but I feel much better being away from home now that she has the "basics" under her belt. If she had the time, I know she would continue training. She tested through her green belt, and was quite the natural (due to all the fitness competing she has done and gymnastics).

it was very good, the class I went to was focusing on the stand up aspect, so sort of like kickboxing really, all the guys were nice, pretty business like (which I like), but nice guys all the same, my shoulders were pretty full of lactic acid by the end lol

I could tell people were thinking stuff like 'oh shit!' and 'who or what the fuck is that?!' when I came in, but I cracked a couple of patented witty remarks and everyone was at ease lol.

I am totally gonna get some boxing gloves of my own asap, I had to wear a pair of communal ones and I have never put my hands in a tighter or soggier place in my life.
