going crazy from not smoking(help)

I have smoked for near 2-3 yrs and near 1 pack of day marlboro reds(I am 17)

This is day 5 without a smoke, and I keep busy, training eating every 2 hrs(healthy porteins and carbs)(appetite is never ending!)
and drink lots of water.(2 galls) However,I am losing my fucking mind!Shaking, pissed, sleepless, and moody as hell.

I tried the gum, made me sick(heartburn, throat, nasty after mouth.
I havent tried the patch, maybe gonna try.
Also I am getting sick,I get bronchitis twice a year(weather changes) and it seems since I have quit smoking I am in worse shape. I down hydrotussin and z-packs for that however.

Anyone know what I am going through and any tips on keeping my cool?Seriously,I am "going to quit quitting smoking"

How long will I have this withdraw?A month, months,a yeaR?!!?!
And once you quit(months) do the cravings really stop,or do they creep back?

....

start incorporating cardio EVERY day into your routine. The post exercise endorphine/serotonin release should help a lot. Jack off too if it helps

You CAN do it bro!!!
I quit smoking about a year ago, Marlboro reds, about 20 a day, it was hard for about the first week, after that I found it quite easy, you MUST keep yourself busy, i had recently joined the gym so i was down there all the time, by the way I very RARELY crave now, and when I do, it lasts about 1 minute, GOOD LUCK!

Easy. Its not the toxins thats the prob. Its a little something called nicotine-and its very addictive.

Jacking off??How does that help?

You are experiencing the initial stages of withdrawal. Your brain is sending out a massive craving signal that will take about a week to die out. Once it does then it will get weaker over time.

The withdrawal itself is very individual specific.

The constant craving stops within 2 weeks. Then you get the associative cravings. You know after a meal, sex, with a beer, etc...

If the withdrawal gets to bad get the patch step down method.

It slowly takes away the nicotine which is the no. one thing your craving.

Most people get fat when they quite smoking because they look towards food as a supplement. Watch out for this!

It is you against a little 3 inch white stick, are you going to let it beat you? Don’t budge, it will talk to you, it will try to entice you. “just one more” “smoke me, and that’s it, then you can quit” “you don’t need to really quit” jazz like that dude, it’s the drug, don’t listen to it, if you give it a inch you’re screwed.

My advice to you is this, Go buy a can of chew (ONE CAN) take 3 small dips a day the first week, 2 dips a day the second, and 1 the 3rd. and then quit. No more cigs, no more chew, I’ve known 5 people quite smoking this way, 2 of the 5 chew now though:(:FRlol:

I used to dip too.Only when I couldnt smoke though(school,on atv at high speed,etc..) I never had a prob quitting chew, though I prob would if it was my only source of drug.

i'm sorry to hear that bro but the best thing you should had done was to not get involved in smoking in the first place. Too late for that tho.

True story: My brother-in-law's mom died on Christmas Eve a few years back. Lung cancer. She was screaming for Jesus to end her pain. And she was Jewish.

Keep moving, man. Keep both hands busy. Take your life back.

I can't relate. I've never been addicted to anything in my life! Well, sex maybe, but that's a good thing. ;-)

Hang tough! Think of allll the money you'll be saving when you stop, and, most important, your own LIFE will be saved!

Do a bunch of cardio as much as you can. The sheer lack of endurance and shortness of breath can do it for some. Also some have tried carrying around a straw cut to the size of a cigarette and when they get a bad craving they will pull it out of their pocked and pretend to smoke the straw. More of a mental thing than anything. Good luck.
