So I started my pct this week and all of a sudden I've got the worst case of backne known to man. I mean my whole back, shoulders, and arms are covered in zits. Is this normal and what can I do? This sucks.

would that proactive work?

No, that is not normal at all, I would get on accutane ASAP. If its as bad as it sounds, a derm should put you on no problem and it will be free with insurance. Whats the point of working out to look good if you are covered with pimples, right? Most girls I know are totally grossed out by dudes with acne.

Yes it is normal when u come off your hormones are fluxuating and that cause the break outs my worst breakouts come after my cycle when my natural test levels are trying to recover

havent you seen the commercials for it? it looks like pretty good stuff but i think its expensive. look it up bro

From what I've heard its not that effective, especially not for really bad cystic acne like it sounds like he has. NOTHING compares with accutane in terms of results (and if you are going through your insurance its much cheaper too).

Agreed, very normal when the hormones fluctuate.......and its' the only time I get acne, is when going into PCT.

If you really get acne covering your back, shoulders, and arms every time after your cycles then why do you even take AS? The majority of people either don't break out or break out mildly, but something as severe as the poster was describing is NOT normal. Period.

proactive didnt do much for my pct acne at all. Nothing for few cystic ones under the skin. My girlfriend said it took away some of the redness. Im pretty clear now but its cause ive been off for 3-4 months now. my opinion is its just another acne med that doesnt work much, like all the rest of them.

Most skin conditions are caused by a backed up liver. The toxins aren't being processed right because you liver is backed up with bacteria and other toxins. I'd do a liver cleanse and use benzoil peroxide lotion on your back (below .05%). I think that's the main ingredient in the proactive lotion too. Drink a lot of water and just wait it out. If you try to put too many different chemicals on it to fix it, you could irritate you skin and make it worse. I've dealt with acne almost all my life, but I got it licked now. What did it for me was laser treatment.....that's your best bet if you can afford it.

You're kidding, right?

That stuff is WAY too expensive and somehow you gotta get someone to smother it all over your back :p I've used it on my arms tho, it works but juthst not worth it
ya i heard its alot of work

No jackass, I'm not kidding.

If you would stop taking juice because of a few pimples, then you must be the vainest/insecure person in the world ... maybe re-evaluate why you do this, for other people or for yourself

Take a look at www.b5supplements.com They have great information on there. I use a product called Evolution X. It works... even on the deep, irritated red ones!
I would also look over your pct. If you time everything right this shouldn't happen. It should be a seemless transition from on to off. If it is no zits occur!

Hey slatl.... i am thinking of getting the evolution x, I know its just B5 do you know how much b5 is in each pill and how many u take a day>

b5 is a little cheaper in Vitamin Shoppe.

The Body Shop Tea Tree works really well. Get the cactus fiber scrub brush with that. It'll cost you about $20, but really effective from my experience.

But I'd really like to take care of the source of the problem; treat it internally. B5 can create imbalances in other b-vitamins and this leads to deficiency. I like my B6/B12/B3. They're so good for bodybuilding.

Just wondering about that liver cleanse idea. What specifically to do/take?

If you took the time to read the first post he is not talking about a "few pimples", he is talking about his arms, shoulders, and back being "covered" in acne. Like 99% of the people on this board, I'm not a professional athlete or bodybuilder, I take juice to look better and be stronger. It completely defeats the purpose is you are covered in acne that can scar you permanently. Vain? Insecure? No, just logical.

Accutane is the way to go...Ask your doctor if he can write you a script..

did you get them much before?? do you usually get acne??? and it just got worse??
or are you usually clear.. and thy just showed up??

so proactive does work?

Proactive is just another one of those fancy products that is over-priced and over-hyped. It can work for MINOR acne, as can most of those other fancy name products. Its main ingredient is benzoyl peroxide. It's really no different from other cleanser products you'll find at Shoppers Drug Mart like Clearasil, Oil of Olay junk, Biore crap, etc etc.

If you're covered in acne using one of those products is NOT a good idea, as you can easily end up breaking open a pastule and spreading the bacteria to other areas. Accutane for serious acne.

I actually tried that Evolution X a while ago. Got major diarrhea from it even though my dose was very small (500mg - 2 grams/day). Once I stopped using it the diarrhea stopped. Didn't do much for the acne, but that's my experience with it at least.

Here is the run down:

Vitamin B1 1mg
Vitamin B2 1.15mg
Vitamin B3 .7mg
Vitamin B5 510mg
Vitamin B6 1.33mg
Vitamin B12 4mcg
Folic Acid 20mcg
Biotin 60mcg
Chromium 3mcg
Manganese .1mcg
Molybdenum 3mch
Selenium 2mcg
Zinc .5mcg
Alpha Lipioc Acid 2mg

There are 400 servings per container. I take at least 7.5grams a day... or... 15 pills. I spread them out through out the day.
After one month is cleaned up all the small stuff.
After two months it got rid of the big nasty shit.
I occassionally will get a zit here or there now and then. I love the stuff!

Accutane is the way to go. It can be expensive, but when you spend 100's of dollars on things that may or usually do not work, you could have solved this problem with out a doubt.

You can buy a liver cleanse kit at most health food stores. There's a homemade way to do it too which actually causes you liver to convulse out tons of blockage and even some stones. I did it and felt awesome for like 6 months after. They recommend you do it once or twice a year. It's not too complicated. I'll see if I can round up the exact method for you.

starks, you are wrong my bro. it is very normal. i only get acne when off cycle and this last one was the first time i did a pct, and it was a million times worse. been off for 5 months and i look like shit. i just got back on another one, and it's starting to clear up now..

by the way i've been taking 5grams of b5 a day, along with a b-multi (to make up for deficiencies) and it has started to work a little.

I guess since you have a serious acne problem then evryone else must too, right? I know lots of guys that have cycled, including myself, that broke out very little during or after. Do you ever see Pros on their super doses covered in acne? Pro athletes? Maybe instead of going around acting like a know-it-all you might want to talk to your derm, it might improve your life quite a bit. Especially since your special 5 GRAMS ED of B5 diet is doing little to help you, you might want to turn to a real prescription and actually fix your problem. Why are you ok with turning to medicine for building muscle, but scared to get a real drug to fix your pimple ridden body?

I use doxycline (antibiotic) and erythromyacin topical solution and it works wonders. Tried retnin-a and it made everything worse. As long as your consistant with the erythro applications (2-3 times a day) it works great. I also got prescriptions for these from my doctor, didn't need to see a dermatologist. Give it a try.

i am interested in the liver detox as well. i have prety bad acne on my back, the reason i am afraid to try it is because i heard it makes you lose a lot of weight when you first start it. if this is a complete lie, please correct me, i will head over to a dermatologist right away if that is not the case. i also heard it gives you pretty bad emotional problems.

Are you talking about accutane. I never lost weight on it. The only real emotional problems I had were dealing with the sides and feeling burnt and dried out all the time. I posted the liver cleanse on the other acne thread. I'm gonna do it again soon cause it's been about a year since I last did it. It's definitely worth doing.

no the tetracycline and other cycline antibiotics are catabolic, not a good idea to use them on cycle, but i dont have a choice, i'm okay with my gains coming a little slower, and i'd rather be 'on' to fight the catabolic nature anyway...
at least this is what i've been told.
