Glucosamine/Chondroitin

This issue has probably already been discussed but:

Does Gluc/Chon really work for joint and muscle aches?

I have a bad knee (dislocated a few times in the past) and I have just started running. I run with a brace and am taking it very slow right now but I have noticed my knee is a little sore and aggrivated.

I know what I really need is to go to a specialist, get an MRI and maybe get surgery. Right now, that is not an option so....

IF glu/chon is a proven, reliable supplement, is there a good brand and what dosage is recommended?

I know I have asked a lot here but any help would be very appreciated!!

Thanks!

Hopefully you won't get too upset with me as I tell you that you need to go see a doctor, or stop aggravating your knee until you do. There's no substitute, no matter what the label on a supplement says. If you have a serious problem, get your ass to a doctor.

I took it for torn cartilage around my rotator cuff and along with physical therapy I think it helped me avoid surgery that 2 out of my 3 doctor's said I needed.

its not miracle working. it helped me with knee pain (glucosamine), ut it wasnt overly a serious an injury, and it might have just been heling normally

like it was said above, the best solution is a doc. i read that 85% of chondrotin is metabolised before absorption so i always stuck with glucosamine
