GHB...Dateline Special

Whast up with that. Didn't know you could get hooked on GHB...Well maybe hooked on it in giving it to girls in the bars...but for yourself?

If you have a weak mind, you can get 'addicted' to anything.
 
ive never tried it , but it sure sounds like it could be addicting

drunk without having to drink all the beer, a great sleep, whatever i'd do it everynite if i had a keg of it in my fridge
 
I had a buddy that did it everyday for a year. Then our good buddy at the (...zoo) quit selling it.. He quit cold turkey and didn't even think about it again. It's not any more addictive than drinking a coke.

I tried to get my psych to prescribe it for me but he said it has a very large abuse prfile and distribution is VERY strictly controlled

An abuse profile is VERY different than an addiciton profile. It has a high potential for abuse... that does not make it addictive.

It's a bad drug in many ways. You can fall asleep brushing your teeth.

It's also VERY easy to get... still.
 
I used to use 1, 4 B pretty regular while on a heavy test cycle for sleep. I never once craved it. Sleeping pills are wayyy more habit forming. If used right (a set dose measured out no more than 3-4ml max) it is pretty safe. It gets a bad rap because people mix it with liquor and if taken in a high dose all at once it will knock your ass out.

I think they overplayed the dangers of GHB on that special. Pretending everyone who takes it will die in a gutter doesn't help anyone make good decisions.

And, in my opinion, his kids were assholes.
 
I have two friends who both have been addicted to G. It's hard (very hard) to get addicted, but if you do, it's nasty as all hell to get out of it. They both described it as the worst thing they've ever gone through to get off it.

They both did A LOT though. Every day and not just to sleep.
 
I watched the show last night. That "dad" is a total asswipe. That's one guy who didn't have any redeeming qualities.

There was one scene where his son walked passed him and jsut punched him while walking passed. The kid was just so angry at his dad for being such an a-hole. It was sad.

Now I know pleanty of people who have used it/still use it. Some are permently addicted, as in if its in front of them they will take it.
You can sit here and claim there is no addictive profile for the drug, I can sit here and tell you I have seen first hand the dangers of GHB.

Friends who use it all day, friends who went into coma's and the next week are useing it again. The feeling while on GHB/GBL is one of complete euphoria and happiness. You are free to socially intact with commen strangers in ways that most shy/reserved people find difficult. Now you tell me if that can be addictive, maybe not pysically but mentally, yes.

Sounds like many other narcotics. I've done it several times, and never found it the least bit euphoric or addictive.

Agreed!! It was very sad watching those kids grow up with their dad Ging out. This guy is one weak individual.

Not quite sure what you were using but ghb, not gbl or 1,4 butanediol, is a very euphoric drug, hence the nickname liquid x, everyone can sit here and claim that the drug is not addictive, or it may not have an addictive profile, but being an owner of a nightclub, and being a part of the bodybuilding community, I have first hand witnessed many friends and associates, get severely addicted to GHB. IMO it is the greatest drug of all time.....but as with everything moderation is key. If it wasn't for low life pieces of shit using it to take advantage of girls, the Federal Government would not have come down so hard, shit I remember when I could buy the shit at a bar from the bartender, or off the shelves at GNC. Those days are long gone, and so is real GHB for the most part, in every club across the country you have some stupid fucks trying to pawn off 1,4 or gbl as GHB. Not even close to the same shit......without the conversion of sodium hydroxide and gbl, you have nothing......for all of you who do have access to the real shit or make it for yourself, please be careful, and use it responsibly....as I said it is is the greatest drug of all time, but discretion is a must.........PEACE

I totally agree with everything that was said. I have extensive experience with the drug. You HAVE to respect it. If you don't it could be the last mistake you ever make. My friends and I use it all the time in college. Who wants to stay in and not get messed up on a thursday night because you have a test the next day. three to three and a half hours after you take it you fill fell almost perfect, and probably sleep better!
 
its a very strange drug.. some people have a problem with it and some people dont.

but id call the shakes, nervousness, and auditory hullicinations all signs of with withdrawal symptoms and reall addiction.
