I saw a infomercial last night that made me laugh.. People claiming to make 30,000-75,000 in a week to a month and doing NO work at all.. It made me wonder how many people fell for this shit?

have you ever bought a get rich quick book or product?

I admit I bought one back in my college days when I was too lazy to work

No.

Simply theory really - if they were taking their own advise why would they have to sell books to make a living?

I got a list of foreclosed homes once.

That's actually not a bad idea, you can though read the papers and see what houses are going up on the court steps most get paid but some go to foreclosure. There was a great one by me mortage was less than half the value of the house, we were going to go but at the last minute didn't and sure enough it went up on the block.

win some lose some

I tried that once.... the sentance was 10-20. j/k

I have some pretty silly self help books, including about relationships, success, and, yes, wealth. It's my guilty pleasure. When company comes, I hide the self-help books and have all the high brow reading out in the bookshelf...lol.

I never have but I do know several who have gotten sucked in.

My younger sister got sucked into Cutco Knives back in college.

Really, it isn't so much about being a nasty, repugnant bitch. It is just about holding your own ground and having your own life. It is actually a pretty darned good book...lol.

EASY and MAKING MONEY don't go together.

The Walmart Cows that buy that shit haven't figured it out. And thus easy prey.

They do it mostly in their clan. What some of them have done is they go back to the country where they served their mission and get all of their converts signed up under them. There are some very wealthy 20-somethings here from that.

Tell me some more about this 'bombshell manual of style'.

EF guys, gather around.

Yeah, but it was more relevant in the housing boom. Looks a bit outdated now with the housing bust that is going on. I realize real estate is still a great investment, long term, but people have a bad taste in their mouths.

Oh.

A functioning brain, separate friends, a career and sorted independence that may or may effect their happiness?

SO what's another word nasty selfish bitch that some guys gravitate to?
:chomp:

That book is sort of tongue in cheek but it talks about how bombshells should walk, wear perfume, have a hissy fit, etc in keeping with the bombshell icons of past and present. It is meant to be funny, but I could see some dense women not getting the humor of the book and using it as an actual "how to."

is it illegal in the great state of Utah?

No. They do multi level marketing things. Same difference as a pyramid scheme, only they actually sell a product. The more people you get signed up under you, the more you make. What it seems a lot of people do is, they get sold on the idea that they'll make a ton of money selling whatever the product is. They buy the start up kit or whatever and never make money. When they buy the kit, the person they're under makes a profit. Smart people hold seminars showing how these people can get rich with little to no effort and sell whatever it is to the suckers that believe it. 3 classes a week with 10 people signing up under them makes a mint. Then they get kickers if any of the people actually make any money. Some people are in up to 10 different programs, not making any money. They just believe whoever they ran into at church and fork their money over.

Funny, I have hissy fits all the time. I'm a big drama queen in life. Never knew I could attribute it to a style. Cool, Thanks!

primerica around here tries to sell G-d along with the life insurance and investments. They use it as a tool to spread the gospel so to speak.

They sell mortgage acceleration programs, makeup, supplements, magnetic healing shit, basically everything you can sell.

do people really buy that mortgage acceleration shit? That is the biggest fucking scam in the world.. $400 bucks to have them prepay your mortgage payment 2 weeks early.. I can do that for free by paying 1/12 my principal every month

Yeah, it's basically something where they sell you software showing you how the program is supposed to work, then they give you a HELOC with a steep margin which makes them a ton of money, then they pretty much end up paying maybe $100/mo. extra toward your mortgage using all of that bullshit.

Sending extra money each month is easier if you're disciplined enough.

I always like the ad you see that says, "earn extra money stuffing envelopes, send 5 bucks for the info", and the catch is that you get a letter back that says "put an ad in the paper like I did..."

supposedly it isn't illegal......
