People will babble about this for 2 weeks. Then they'll get bored and forget about all this and move on. Humans are very predictable. Mark it up as scandal of the day.

People in C&C will will eventually forget about this.
People in AAS though will leave or not join EF to begin with.

Someone made the point that this was great marketing on the part of GS. But when privacy is of the utmost concern to those who come to EF, then that statement falls flat. It may be a quick fix, initially, at generating additional revenue but in the long run you are basically shooting yourself in the foot.

There have already been quite a few posts of members deciding to not renew their Plat status (for whatever reason). This issue of 'privacy breach' only makes the decision making process for Plats that much easier. For those thinking of joining EF, it will definitely be a concern ... assuming that they even know that their IP is now free to whomever pays for it. Offering someone a guarantee that this would not occur doesn't really mean much now as one of the first actions of one of the new 'chairman of the board' was to post the IP address of a member on the open forum. Deleting the post does not restore the issue of privacy.
