That doesn't seem so in this case now does it?

Some people just need to take better care of their vehicles.

Anyone else find it amusing that Scots has been through 6 sets of shocks?

Yeah a wp failure at 47k is far too soon, but that's really a minor part. It's not like a connecting rod snapped or something.

plus gm doesn't make friggin water pumps. . .or connecting rods for that matter. . .all the manufacturers within the u.s. (domestic and foreign alike) buy their stuff from the same places. . .i garauntee that the mfg that made the gm water pump also makes water pumps for fords, dodges, hondas, toyotas and nissans. . .

I had a Ford Ranger XLT Supercab - thing, lots of electrical gremlins - but nothing major.

i had a bronco ii that spun a main bearing 3,000 miles after the warranty expired. . .damn disappointing. . .

my last car, a saturn, borked up a water pump at 74K.

at 82k the transmission wouldn't go into reverse immediately.

after checking prices for a transaxle rebuild, i dumped it while it still would move.

yeah, but that's not really an out though. The vehicle manufacturer is ultimately responsible for the quality of it's vendors' parts.

WP is just a piddly little part. Even if it's wasn't replaced under warranty, which I'm sure it was, I couldn't judge the overal quality of the vehicle from that little part failure. Now when my mom's new Audi blew it's tranny at 30k miles, THAT kinda soured me on the make altogether.
