Gel?

Ok I was recently diagnosed with Low T, total= 1.3 almost nothing. Anyway, I was told they are gonna put me on the gel. I asked about injections, she stated if the gel doesn't work then its on to inject. After reading alot about this, it seems after week 3 the gel is ineffective and levels drop even lower. How can I get her to go straight for the injects?

Let's say if you have 500 test, take x ammount of gel....can it boost your test to 1200, which is the high normal range? Or do you need Test Cyp injects or other variant to boost that much?

It works different for everyone...Some people have good success with the gels. I prefer the inject. IMO it's way more convenient all I have to do is one shot per week and I'm done. Where the gels are an everyday thing.

Just be honest and talk to your Dr. This is a big mistake that most peope make...Don't be afraid to discuss YOUR issues with YOUR Dr....Thats what they are there for.

I've been using Androgel 5g for about 3 weeks ...

My dr. sent me to an endo., who after a series of blood tests of test levels around 300, put me on the gel.

For me, it works. I don't know what my levels have gone up to, but I feel better mentally and physically, my sex life with my wife rocks, and my bicycling is much improved.

I don't know about injecting ... I could do the shots, but I'm not feeling put out by applying the gel. I just put it on every morning after I take my shower. About 15 min. later, after my oatmeal, I put on my shirt and go about my business.

So, for me ... the gel works fine. Oh, BTW, it's really, really expensive without going through an endo. and insurance. Really expensive.

Well, I was going to go all natural, and I have a good build right now, but I'm 43. In fact I went to the gas station the other day, and some dude says, "God you're big." "How big are your arms?".....18 and 1\2 pumped up.

I had my blood tested and my test was way low in the 300 range. I am shocked at all that I make progress in the gym. I can only attribute that to shear effort and a good diet, proper protein intake etc. My doc says he wants me to try androgel first because...in his words.... "I don't want the DEA bugging me."

I think with Test levels at 300, even though I will be using Androgel that I eventually will have to get on injects. My wife is dead set against it, but I'll do it anyways and just hide it. Once a week injection is easy to do if that's what I end up doing.

I never really was interested in obtaining anything illegally anyways, so the fact that I have low test verified is a good thing for me. Now I can get it treated properly under the care of a physician.

What kind of injects did your doctor prescribe you? Cyp?

Injectable Testosterone and transdermal are the same thing..The only difference is the delivery method. The DEA can not say anything about injectable testosterone as it is used for medical purposes. Yes I get Testosterone cypionate @150-200mgs per week.

However I have pre-exisiting condition, as does my brother and father.

If you do a google search for test gel you'll find several pharmacies that will sell it to you cheaper. All you have to do is have a current perscription. They will contact your doc to verify and then you can order from them and save money. Check it out. I know a guy who does it.

I did the gel for a long time and had a very high jump in testo levels as confirmed by blood testing. 900 level. I found it quick drying and simply applied it after a shower.

And the same for bio-identical topical from a compound pharm. I felt the bio was smoother and held a plateau better. The topical is a creme and you must rinse your finger tips.

Injections are easy too once you get used to them. I was pn test p twice a week. Results were great and I could feel a jump.

Right now I'm on the bio and it is fine.

I am actually below 300. My only worry is that I get tested while on the androgel and the doc says then, I don't need injectables. From what I understand, the only way to really get your test in the high range is to do injectables.

Also, can't believe how expensive this stuff is.... it's like $200.00, but my insurance covers $150.00, leaving me only paying $50.00.

How much is injectable depending on insurance coverage?

I heard Cyp is way better anyways. I'll see how the gel works, but my guess is it'll never approach what Cyp can do for you.

I think my problem....probably started from a bike accident when I used to do competitive cycling.

I actually damaged one of them....even had some bloody ejaculate for a while after the accident...then it went away.

Is it possible I damaged one of my testicles enough so that only one is working, and that's why I have test levels below 300?

Well anything is possible but it's unlikely....1 testi can produce anough testosterone and sperm for an average male.

Your Dr. must be retarded...Injections are far superior to a gel...Not to mention way easier IMO.

Gels cause skin problems,convert to DHT, and estrogen quicker.It's common knowledge among most GP's and Endo's that Injections have yet to be beat.
