Gaining stopped?

hey everyone - need some advice!

I'm in week 8 of my first cycle (200mg/deca, 300mg/test-e, anastrazole 1 mg every 3 days, all obtained through a doctor and pharmacy). I started at 160 pounds: I know some people think I should have waited til i was larger to do the cycle but along with my doctor and trainer, chose to do a cycle so not looking to dispute this.

I started at 160 and am now 172 pounds, but the strange thing is I haven't gained anything in weight or strength in over 2 weeks. I had been working out 5-6 days a week so cut back to 3 to see if more rest would help but there has been little change.

i know my caloric needs raise as my weight does and while I eat as much as I can, supplemented by protein bars and shakes, perhaps not enough?

I'm worried I'll waste my first cycle.

is there a basic guideline for how much I should hope to gain during this cycle?

I'm a little discouraged and confused - thanks for any feedback!

First off 12lbs gained in eight weeks is not a waste, it's a great start.

Second you do have to increase your whole food intake, not shakes and protein bars. Two shakes a day max, all other calories should come from whole food. Make sure you do a post workout shake within a half hour of your training, never miss this meal. Then eat a whole food meal within an hour of your shake, think big protien, chicken, beef. If your not putting on a little fat during a bulk, your probably should add another meal.

Also are you prone to gyno? Why are you taking anastrozole right from the start? It could be lowering your estrogen too much and slowing your gains, you could try cutting that dose back to half, and see if gains pick back up.

What do you bro's think?

12lbs is good but a lot of people I know gained around 20 from their first cycle. Since you were 160lbs at the start its probably your diet thats not right. My only fear is that in 2 months you will weigh 160lbs again. Thats what happens to most people that use before they should. Hopefully it won't happen to you. Eventually your body will hit a plateau and you'll have to eat your way through it basically. So best advice is eat more, especially when you get off gear.

How old are you bro?

Height? BF%?

I'd imagine you could've done a lot more naturally. At 160 lbs, your diet would seem lacking to me....you def. need to get your calorie intake up and eat more....

Gaining weight to a large degree is about diet and rest.

everyone - thanks for all the input it's really helpful!
I'm 33.

I have gained body fat, for sure, a bit annoying but I'm not complaining since it came with muscle.

are there any home recipes or tips for eating out when trying to gain? It seems that i'm eating all the time but I guess still not enough!

I've been working really hard and have no plans to stop but it would be a real bummer if i started to reverse afterwards.

My doc and trainer have my PCT with Gonadatropin. I'm also going to take the full suite of supplements mentioned on this site. If i do that, keep eating and training, I'm hoping to keep most of my gains. is this likely?

Send me a PM bro. We'll talk.

You need some diet advice.

What does your lifting routine look like? Be specific.

In addition to eatting like a horse, you need to be working out like one too. Hard and heavy, bustin' ass! And 8 hours of sleep.

I gained 12 pounds, but maybe 3-4 of fat so it's not 12 lean, sadly.

I am using a workout designed by OMEGA and it's really good.

In terms of raising cals should i focus on protein or take calories pretty much wherever i can get them (excluding obvious things like sugar and friend food, etc)

12lbs of lean muscle > 20lbs of muscle and fat
you are making good clean gains in muscle bro
keep your cals up since that will be the defining factor in weight gain

first of all week 8 is pretty much when the cycles slow down...you may get small gains by week 10 but not much...your problem is your food by what you wrote...
test is low dosed
your deca is low dosed
adex is to high dose for that little test...1/4 tab eod would be fine...if you werent killing all your estrogen you would have another 5-10 pounds on you now
cant expect big gains off minimum doses....

diet wise you should be eating minimum 3200 calories for your size of 160
50 grams protein per meal 6 meals or more
50 grams carbs per meal 6 meals or more
70 grams fat per day
if you dont eat you will not se results...keep this in mind for your next cycle...

Ok, so the routine will be solid.

The other issue is the intensity. Does your trainer work with you in the gym and push you?

Are you having to grunt to get out the last few reps?

How about you post a typical day's diet and we can see where things can be tweaked.

Do you know how many calories you are taking in? Grams of protein, carbs and fat?

Do you know which foods make you grow? It can take some experimenting, for example, this year, after avoiding dairy for such a long time, I found out that I grow like a weed with it in my diet.

Red meat is also one of my best bodybuilding foods.

I'm curious if you had your test levels checked before you started this cycle? The reason I ask is if they were really low then at 33 you may consider hrt instead of pct. I am in no way advising this unless your natty levels were down in the 200's to start with.

As I said and many others have said I think it's your diet and the fact that your taking too much anastrozole.

You're prob not getting enough protein. Try to get at least 300g per day.

Also, your dosages are very low.

Are you lifting heavy? You should be failing around 8 reps. If you're not tired as hell when you leave the gym you haven't done anything. Ignore the clueless natty folks in the gym. Do what we say.

I started my first cycle at 198 hit 235, now i'm back down to 215. My recomposition has been nuts though.. It's 90% diet.

2 to 3 grams of protein per lb. of body weight first. Carbs and (good) fats after. Eat plenty of veggies. Take bromelain before red meat meals. You need to eat more than you've ever eaten in your life. You need to be eating every 1-2 hours...pretty much non-fuckin-stop.

If you'd have had your diet dialed in right, you could've gained more than 12 pounds naturally by now.

Go eat till you feel like you're gonna puke, then drink a milkshake. You should never be hungry during the day...never. Diet is where most people fail at this. They turn to drugs too early, then wonder why they haven't gained more. Steroids can't make up for shitty diet and/or training.

Bump that!

Using steroids to go above 160 pounds is like using a pole vault to step over an ant hill.
