(G/F)I finally got myself a training partner( IRISH question for ya)

Well guys from november til yesterday I always trained on my own of course I'd have my brother to spot me in b/w sets if it was my ME day but he's more worried about SIZE and pussy shit like that. So I got a new training partner not sure if she will be able to spot me very well(and yes I said SHE). Last WED me and my g/f were talking and she was saying that why wouldn't I go do that meet AUG 10,2002 and I told her the reasons how I wasn't well rested I had missed too many workouts and they were mostly ME SQ/DL(the thing i'm best at i miss that workout) so I was gonna go ahead and do the DEC 1 meet. So she goes to me "I wanna start lifting with you" at first I thought she was joking so I went on the womens board and asked round for routines for women and Spatts A great women told me WESTSIDE she trains that way why not her.

Well yesterday was her first time lifting westside(partially) I wanted to start her off light and to get form down which is very important so I told her how my routine normally went and she liked the idea, upset for speed bench she doesn't wanna hurt her boobs  , So we were talking after yesterdays workout and when we came back to my house I was curious and checked out the records for her age and weight division right now she would fall under 16-17 year old 123lb division well the APA records for that weight class are SQ105/ BP105/ DL185. NOW the reason this shocked me is b/c she already squats 175 her BP is up to I believe she did 90lbs and her DL she's never done it before but I'm sure it's around 135 or 145 she plays softball so her legs are strong. So when she saw the records she asked me if I was gonna compete in DEC 1 in the APA and I told her yes (the meet on DEC 1 the one in daytona is APA right??? ) well she told me that she's gonna compete with me.

So now I have a training partner and a meet partner. The only bad thing bout training with her is that she isn't the type of girl that can stay angry at all or get pissed she's always smiling and happy so I was trying to get in the zone yesterday for my ME excercise and when I started with my huffing and puffing and yelling she looked at me and started laughing and goes "oh shit not that again" so i got out of it and had to start to get myself pumped all over again.

IRISH(or anyone else that can help) I hope you read this I know you told me how to clean up my diet well she's got a lil bit of a gut it's like a minor thing but she does want to get rid of it and trust me I wouldn't mind it being gone either (for my health I hope she doesn't read this, luv ya hun)(:alien: I'm dead) how should a women diet I was thinking on training days 1g/carbs per lb BW protein everyday 1g/lb BW and fat very minimal and then on non training days the carbs brought down to .75g or .50g(if she can handle it). She doesn't eat like throughout the day alot either way but she does eat shitty foods which i'm starting to change.

thanks for any help guys and please feel free to comment for the women on here if you can help me out with what you do training westside compared to your b/fs or husbands differently that WOULD help A TON

thats awesome that you have a training partner... and i wish i was a female.. i'd be elite :) that'd be so cool

as for dieiting, load her up on flax seed oil, and i would say keep the carbs pretty low, protien and fat high to moderate. she can even do CARDIO (yes, sex counts as cardio).

Haha! I LOVE it!

Didn't I giveyou a diet before? Does she want the numbers or does she want to re ripped? Either way I think she should carb rotate...eat big on training days so she can hit the numbers then taper back on non training days. In case you missed...

My cutting diet looked like this:

http://home.swbell.net/arkaynen/cutting.htm

You would have to alter the times by when you train, and cycle the carbs 3 days low (.5g/kg body weight) and 2 days high (2.0g/kg body weight), or high on training days and low on non training days. The diet in the link represents the 100g CHO median.

1Kg = 2.2046 lbs

when i need to lose weight or my training partner (female) does, we normally up the protein and lower the carbs. i try to keep the fat in moderation and not slam down all the sausage and bacon i can eat. this should work especially on your given timeline. it's a pain in the ass for most people the first week, but after that, it just becomes routine. also, i do eat more carbs on workout days then on non workout days.

yeah... what poetic said!!

eating is not rocket science... its amazing how many people screw it up.

always get lots of protein, fat is better than sugar, and a moderate amount of complex carbs is ok.

if she is trying to really lean up, cut way down on the carbs, but strength levels will drop some.

make sure you watch what is happening strength and appearance wise, and adjust caloric intake up or down.

good luck.

Yep, those are pretty accurate summaries of the diet in my link. The only reason I add the rotation is so I can drop fat fast and still hit my lifts. I've hit 8% several times on over 2000cals. That would choke most figure competitors. Like Irish said, keep it simple.

The Southern States in Dec is an APF meet. Thats no reason for her not to compete.

And as for her laughing at you getting "psyched" or whatever...she'll get used to it. Be Intense, or Be Somewhere Else. I can be a pretty intense individual to train with...at least on the main moves of the day. Once I get into accesory work I'm laughing and joking around. You almost have to have an alter ego in the gym....nothing that happens there should be personal. If it was the first time she has lifted with you...give her some time.

I dunno...some people "get psyched up" and some people just put on a show. It can be rediculous. I say if you're using your air properly, you will be less likely to sound like a wild beast.

On the other hand...ask The Project about my bad case of "scary face" sometime. ;)

I would tend to agree. Getting slapped in the face before a lift...or headbutting the bar seem a bit extreme. I guess it is just a matter of whatever works for you.

If I was you, I would have my girl start off with the basics. Ill make her build a foundation first. Since she plays softball I assume she worksout. But she doesnt train for powerlifting. In other words. Have her pull deads for a couple weeks or months, If she hasnt pulled before then her form is gonna need some work. Cause bad form can really fuck her day up trust me. Let her build up her squat and bench as well. Like my uncle always tells me "You got to build your foundation, before you lay your bricks."
So let her build up her strength level, first and then I guess put her on westside:rolleyes:.
That meet in dec would be perfect for her to do, as a first meet. There will be some big names there. And there might not be alot of teen girls there competing, maybe just a few.
And as far as this diet thing goes, I thought I was looking at a bodybuilding forum. I never seen so many so called powerlifters talk about a diet, and how many carbs, for this and that. I think its funny.
And about the getting yourself pumped. Dont worry about it, she will get use to it. And as for the people that get loud and intense, Thats not putting on a show. Thats getting deep inside and finding all that anger to take out on the weight. Whats putting on a show are those that dont even compete cause there scared they might lose. So they only compete in the backyard bash.
