well, i fell for you man. I have tried quite a few products, a few prescrip creams, clemdimycin, steivamycin, anti biotics, all kinds of shit... that mega dose of B5, fuck nuthing really worked... i'm 28 and i should not have fuckin zits.

this year i got really worried cause i started working on the oil rigs and i figured "sweating for 12 hours a day and being dirty all day long, mud and pipedope on my skin".. i figured i would break out seriously bad... not only that but i usually shave with a beard trimmer because shaving right to the skin with a razor always breaks me out huge-time... i figured i would be breakin out huge because i now have to be clean shaven every day.

before i started working out there i was trying to research (for the umphteenth time) a remedy...

somehow i got onto zinc... i started taking 1ea 50mg tablet every morning along with 1ea timed release multivitamin every morning... right now i am clear of zits and it has been a very long time since i have not had any zits... been like this for atleast 4 months.

in the morning i wash with cetaphil liquid soap... i then use clearasil astringent (the orange-ish/pinkish shit not the gentle blue-ish shit) on those little cotton pads.. (amazing how dirty those cotton pads get after wiping my face with them) and then i smear on benzyl peroxide 5% lotion... then i go to work for 12 hours and return dirty as fuck with pipe dope smeared on my face thinkin i'll have zits galore under there.. i have a shower and repeat the above process... note: i keep wiping with that astringent on those little pads until they are not ending up super dirty - i mean, they must be unclogging pores cause without them all that shit would still be on my face.

give this a whirl man, inexpensive and it has been working wonders on me, i am SOOOOOOOO happy finally to have clear skin.

cheers.

Get some of those acne pads (Stridex or Oxy pads) and keep em with you all the time. Leave a tub at work, one in the car, etc, for if you ever start to sweat and get oil and dirt on your face.

Acne is caused by bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes). Are you washing your face with antibacterial soap?

Chances are none of the above will help you if you've already resorted to Accutane. I hope you were seeing a dermatologist for your Accutane and not just a primary care physician. A dermatologist might also suggest other means of controlling acne.

Some theories suggest that flareups may be linked to diet. There may be a certain component of your diet that can trigger it.

Sorry to hear of your acne. Some people just have wrong genetics. (We all have our health problems. Some people have cholesterol problems, others acne.)

I've been on Accutane for 8 years, and every single time I try to get off it, it is the same old acne all over again. It never gets any better. I am losing my vision from this horrid drug, I am almost legally blind. Had I known this could happen and that it may not permanently get rid of my acne like it claimed, I never would have tried it. Now it is the only thing that ever got me clear since I was 11, and I am 31, and if I want to start having kids, I need to get off it, and if I want to save what is left of my vision as well.

Dematologists are supposed to seriously moderate the use of this drug due to extreme side effects from high dosages or cycles that have gone on too long.... I'm amazed your doctor or dermatologist is just letting you STAY on this drug..... They even have the government WATCHING these dermatologists to make sure they don't overprescribe accutane.

I've done 3 cycles of it over the years and it's helped me incredibly. I was absolutely vile with acne beforehand. The type of guy girls would never look twice at, or if they did it was just to scare and gossip about the gross acne dude...

The drying out is uncomfortable but VERY TOLERABLE compared to the miraculous acne removal properties of this drug.

Steroids are bringing back my acne (but only on my arms and shoulders weirdly enough).... I'll probably have to do an accutane cycle when my steroid cycle is up....
