fucked up my tricep

..was in the middle of doin skullcrushers and on a weight i normally do pretty easily but onthe way up felt a sharp pain near where my upper tricep would meet my rear delt and had to stop my set. i was able to finish out shoulders with doin raises and tried another exercise for tris but it started to hurt in the middle of my warmup set and i decided to quit. ive never torn a muscle before, just ligaments in my knee, so i dont know what it would feel like. i plan on getting it checked tomorrow and not lifting til i get it checked but whats ur guys opinions? would u think its a tear or just a pull? i was still able to do most of a warmup set of one-arm behind the necks but it had too much of a sharp stinging pain so i didnt push it. appreciate any responses.

i feel your pain, it always seems to happen when things are going good...i have yet to tear a muscle, like you i have torn up a knee but my advice to you is take it easy and ice is your friend.....watch for bruising as i know thats one sure fire sign of a tear, if its just a strain you could be back in a week but dont just jump right in take it slow cuz you dont want a strain to turn into something more significant.....hope i helped some....peace

If its just a pull or minor injurt this is the best stuff i have found yet!

err.. strange place to get that pain.. probably just a bad cramp. because of bio mechanical limitations.. it would be nearly impossible with any weight you could hold in that position to tear your tricep.

You "could"strain the origin of the muscle (prob the medial head) but that would be very difficult.. usually insertions tear first.

How much were you using?
 
Tore muscle will hurt to the point of not moving and usually see a pool of blood in the area (this could be color purple) if you see that muscle tore........the only way to know for sure is going to the Dr and an ultrasound or MRI.......usually a Trauma dr can tell you....

If not sure rest your arm.....further exersice will not help if you are injured

it was just my second set, using the curl bar with a 35 on each side. i usually do that for like 10 easily but on like my second rep i got the pain.

hey bro that's happened to me and it went away after a week or two, i had to stop doing tri's and went really light on upper body pushing movement..time will heal it..were you on cycle? that's when i start pulling stuff by going too heavy

yeah im on cycle. test/700 mg/wk. to the other guy, i couldnt work through it. i tried another rep and the pain was escrusciating i felt like something was gonna tear or some shit if i woulda pushed it.

yep, take time off for sure. Stretch it a little and definitely when you start lifting again go really light and Warm UP!
 
found out it was just a pull and i took since last wednesday off. went in and trained chest today but tried not to push it, but it never hurt too bad. scared the shit out of me at first though.
