stefka and nerfertiti - i have a lot of sisters and mainly female friends, and something i learned and learned well was never to listen to what a woman says, if i have the chance to observe her actions instead.

you both talk a good fight, but i think youre full of crap. theres a few girls ive dated/made out with/whatever that supposedly hated "guys like me". a line one of them uttered over the phone was "golden, i dont even like you! i just want to see you because i find you so damn intriguing!"

GD...I'll give you that a lot of girls talk a good game bu act a different way, but I promise you that isn't the case here. I don't "hate" guys like you. I'm just not falling for the bullshit. I admitted that I respond to boldness and a lot of what you've said here I don't dispute. But I am completely unimpressed by a guy who comes up to me out of the blue and asks me to tell him why he should be interested in me. And I'm not even saying I don't like cocky guys, either. I've said several times that the guy I am currently casually involved with is a completely cocky, bold bastard and part of the reason I like him so much - on a superficial, physical level anyway - is he came on with the confidance and straightforwardness that you kind of talk about.

But I see through any "line" someone tries to run on me and the only time it works is if it makes me laugh and acts as an ice breaker. But there's no way I'm hard up enough for male attention that I'm going to sit there and detail why I'm cool enough for someone. You can be bold and make your move on a girl while still remaining genuine and "real." That, these days, is uncommon enough that THAT gets my attention.

And as I said in my previous post - I don't speak for all women, just myself. I'm sure your stuf works on some girls. But I'm just as sure it DOESN'T work on some.

you can't determine that by reading it on the internet. you also know the intention right away in this case, so it's alot easier to say "that wouldn't work". Body language, the way it comes off, and how it was in the moment makes a huge difference. you may have just laughed/been caught off guard, etc and then started the conversation. Maybe even not that particular line, but something similar.If it comes off as trying to hard or unnatural, of course you'll instantly be turned off.

i had a conversation about this the other day with my roomate. i was busting really bad on this waitress at the sushi place we always eat. Ever since i started going there that's what me and her did back and forth to each other. The last time i went, it was my roomate, his friend (a woman, about 30), and his other friend. They knew i liked her and saw what i was doing, probably went a little overboard but...they didn't quite "get it" and my roomate actually told me later that it was almost "cringe worthy" and his friend told me that wouldn't have worked on her, but the waitress certainly got it/enjoyed it and i got her number that night and i hung out with her after work. the difference is, once you know the intention or you take it too far/act unnatural it changes things.

Sublime, there's a reason I qualified my posts with "I only speak for myself." This was meant to convey, "well take it for what it's worth, which really shouldn't be that much considering the medium of our interaction." GD has a habit of giving advice based on what's worked for him as if it works universally. I really don't think I'm that abdnormal in how I'd react to something so obviously rehearsed. BUT - take my opinion for whatever value you have of my opinion. If that's nothing, then it's nothing.
