Found a bleeding man in my yard....

Saturday night my wife and I were watching tv upstairs, and decided to get something to eat in the kitchen. On our way down, we heard many people running by our house, so like any good neighbor would do, we watched. Dosens of people scrambling in all directions, but mostly coming from the main street a block away, by our house and getting picked up by passing cars on our street. They would go up onto our neighbors porch and duck down till a car drove by then run to it and drive off. We went to the kitchen which is at the back of the house, and saw more people coming our way. Then we heard a gunshot. This is not abnormal, but is sounded close, and usually there aren't people around. A few minutes later when the activity died down a bit, I heard something on the side of my house. I looked out one of the windows and there was a guy laying on the ground clutching his leg, shoe off, and calling for help. I told my wife to call 911, and I went outside. I asked if he was hurt, and he said he was shot. I told him an ambulance was on the way and asked where he was shot. He said his leg. I went and got a towell, and wrapped it around his calf. He had a hole just below and behind the knee. This was literally on the side of my house. He was leaning on my fence. While I'm applying pressure on the wound I hear 4 more gunshots nearby, and someone yell, "PUT YOUR HANDS UP!!! NOW!!!" It was like a block away where all the people were coming from. So then the cops show up, and immediately recognise him. They pat him down and put him in handcuffs. Within minutes there were a dozen police vehicles in front of my house. Some cop took our statement, and said thats all he needed. So we went inside. I said, "Well, I think MAD TV is on."

holy shit! where do you live man???? south central? why was everyone running?

Glad to hear you are safe after all that shit went down!! :Chef: :tuc:

thats quite the story bro

sounds like it's time to move

The guy didn't feel much like chatting. But he said there was a party, and some people got into an arguement. The cops showed up and tried to contain the scene, but everyone just ran out the door. So when they saw him they told him he shouldn't have left.

MY neighborhood is a little shady but not too bad. My house is freakin huge and was VERY cheap. Paid cash. So I don't mind.

There was nothing on the news about it. And haven't found anything online. In May we were cleaning up the yard and my wife found a discarded gun in one of the window wells to the basement. So we called the cops to come and get it. They said "There are some shootings, but not as bad as some other neighborhoods, where they actually hit who they shoot at." But before they left, they got a call on the radio, there was a shooting on the other side of the neighborhood and some on was hit. The cop looks at me and said" Just kidding."

From New Yawk city this is Saturday night live!

Its a funny neighborhood. Very mixed. All day long you see seniors going the the community center, or the library. On sunday you'd think you were in the whitest part of the city with all the people coming to church. And most evenings are pretty calm. But every once in awhile, things get outa hand. But I agree, we won't be here long enough to raise kids. But we will make a mint on the house. Even if we have to sell below market to get out of it. $$$$$$

i wonder, if someone had started a thread called 'Found a bleeding woman in my yard', would anyone else reply with 'oh yeah? well, give her a tampon and send her on her way' ?

because that would be crude, disgusting, insensitive, and just wrong.

what city/state bor? why won't you say lol

Yeah, for real! Where the hell do you live dude? I suggest you leave immediatly if these types of activities are happening on a regular basis.

Its really not that bad. Every one in the neighborhood is nice. I just wanted a cheap house. I'm near a park, near downtown, near shopping. When we bought in Portland the neighborhood used to be like this, it tamed with time and with young new homeowners buying up the cheap property, value started to climb, the 3 years we were there my house appreciated over 30% EachYear! This won't be nearly that dramatic, there are too many duplexes, and renters, but the price was right.
It used to be a nice area, really huge houses. A few miles away there was a housing project, but the crime was insane, so the city closed it hoping to disperse the population, and issued vouchers to the residents to use towards rent somewhere. Apparently most didn't go far.

The worst thing that may happen in my yard is an occasion rattler might come up warning me not to step near him.
