agree with the thread title.

Cheating is considered good because it allows the CNS to handle heavier weights than normal leading to > strength. It also helps you get those last reps up instead of fail.

Johnnie has a good foundation to begin with and is working fast. I don't see why an isolation exercise has to be strictly 'isolated'. Why not get the supporting muscles involved, lift heavy and keep intensity up? This could help achieve a well developed and well conditioned overall look.

A curl is a bicep isolation. By moving your body like that you take load off your biceps and put it on other muscles. The result? Obvious douchebaggery but still bicep work along with back, ab, chest, legs etc.

I do't think of that thas otally bad form he still doesn't lose contraction @ the top of the bis curls and @ his level playing with rep speed too it's a valuable tool.

I think Arnold was the first bodybuilder to start doing "cheat" curls....then everyone started doing those

Most pros believe cheat curls are important to develop that extra size and push the limits of your biceps

I suppose that douchebaggery too?

A few is good. A whole work out full of it is retarded. Also wait till you start swinging weights around and throw our back out for a few months. You'll start thinking twice about doing it again anytime soon.

This is a 2 min clip. Who knows what his actual workout is like.

I don't think there are any absolutes in bodybuilding. I've done stuff and I'm sure we all have that we thought was total bunk until we found out that it works.

Agreed.

Your body may respond to something that does nothing for me.

At least he does throw the DB's down in the first part of the clip. That is the mark of a great training session.

B-

He's a fucking beast.

One of the strongest BBers.

He can train however the fuck he wants.

Obviously it has worked well for him.

The negative notion of swinging curls isn't that it is a bad workout per se, just that it is heavily used by idiots to balloon their curl numbers and said idiots tend to dedicate entire days to curls. Thus you often can generalize an idiot as such by seeing if they do swinging curls.

I agree. I see a lot of guys cheating on lifts with weights they have no business even attempting. Pure douchbaggery.

I tend to get a little leg drive on my last sets of OHPs and sometimes a little hip drive on my BB curls.

i have to disagree on this one bro...
lol @ tag team curls... at least the cheat curl you are using your own strength to move the weight...

tag team curl aint as gay as a tag team squat LOL

I guess cheated reps arent that bad, but dont think one is better. However you get they weight up is better than nothing. I dont think your body says hey theres a dousch helping you, lets not grow

I would like to see anyone here call Johnny Jackson a "douche bag". His arms are probably bigger than most ef member's girlfriend's legs, unless she's a hog leg of course. This is a classic debate, and the answer is.... Biginner-cheating: big no no. Beast cheating: anyone that's been around knows what's up.

I missed the "cheating".

His curls with the bar...the little jump at the start will take a lot of strain off the distal bicep tendon and allow him to get more of the contraction portion at the top.

And the weights are freaking light for him...notice how many reps and sets he did (and probably had done before) in the video. Looks like he is getting the muscles FRIED!

a noob using his whole body to curl his 30lb DB's then slamming them down, hitting a most musclular in the mirror then looking around as if his 135lb frame is beastly is much differant to a pro BBer using a little swing when doing heavy ass BB curls and keeping constant tension and controlling the negative IMO

Exactly! The way he squeezes the bis on top it's perfect.

overload training is a verry good thing. i do it at least once per month. and im sure no one is going to knock the training habbits of one of the worlds top pro's lololololool

i bet from your post that your diet is the main problem. make your own thread on the diet section asking for a review of your diet. list a typical days food meal for meal with quantities and your stats.

Nobody nocks a dude that big or even close swinging serious weight around because they know damn well they know what they are doing to get that big in the first place, it doesn't happen by accident. Now when you see a bean pole mustering every ounce of strength to curl 50lb dbs......
