For those Near Boston...

I just wanted to put out a fresh reminder that I'll be competing in my first Pro Strongman contest on Feb 7th in Boston.

I don't expect to do anything great as there are some AMAZING competitors there and I've torn my left hamstring 7 weeks ago and another small tear last Sunday while training. I'm not very strong at the moment...but I plan to leave it all out on the Arena Floor next Saturday...for all those who come.

Some pretty crazy events...

Squat for reps with 650
Farmers Walk: 200' with 365's in each hand, no drops allowed
Conan's Wheel: 660 for max distance
Medley: 425lb and 22' tall fingled finger, 800+ tire flip x 3, 525 Power stairs up five 17" steps
Hercules Hold: with a car in each hand for max time
Atlas Stones: 269, 285, 308, 335, 365, 420 to TALL platforms

Some of the best competitors in the US will be there...some have even been on ESPN's World Strongest Man contest.

i went last year, it was pretty cool, but also very boring at times. there are some big dudes there for sure. what about the pros, there are usually atleast 5 pros there . i didnt hear anything mentioned about that . wonder if the will be there.

Yes...it is actually in Woburn I do believe.

I am a Pro...and there will be 10 Pro's competing that day.

After this...will be a contest in St. Louis...in May. I plan to be there as well.

I also wanted to add that I've FINALLY landed a full-time sponsor (www.irontrybe.com) for the year...and hopefully beyond. This sponsor is also a big sponsor for the contest in Boston...so it appears as if it will work out great for them as well.

It is nice to have a lot of worries taken off of my shoulders for the year...one less thing to worry about.

Good luck bro.. I'm up in NH and will try to make it down. I have worked at a lot of powerlifting competitions up here but have never been to a competition like that. Thats insane! Hope the hammy holds up for you!!

I've been using near everything...and yes that includes DMSO. When I say it is torn...I do mean that the muscle is torn...like not good...

Couldn't walk for several days. 10 days from the injury I could not box squat my bodyweight. Last week I did an easy 607 x 2.

It isn't a pain that I can just mask...the more it tears the more I lose my agility and balance and ability to walk.

I did take my 375 farmers walk implements for 58'6" last week (and got a new slight tear)...but I did do it. I'd really like to get near 100' with their 365's.
