Flaxseed Oil

Any tricks to ingesting Flaxseed oil, I can barely get it down. I tried mixing it in a protein shake and had to throw it out, and that was just a Tablespoon of it. I've tried chugging it and that seems the best way but it sure doesn't go down easy for me.

It's not too bad when added to oatmeal, but then again I dont really think it tastes all that bad on its own.

It's not bad at all. Mix it in a drink, add a couple packets of Equal to it, and you should be able to handle it.

If you're serious, you can't be wussy about pills, needles, or anything you gotta swallow because it tastes bad.

However, I draw the line at giving BJs.

I usualy mix my tuna with balsamic vinigar and flax seed oil. It actually tastes pretty good.

I just take a tble spoon full down on its own then wash it down with water...doesn't taste bad at all.

It taste like shit, especially in a protein drink. I put a tablespoon in my mouth and as soon as I pull the spoon out I wash it down with my shake.

Hi BC- The suggestion of mixing it with vinegar for a salad dressing works quite well, I use Tony Cacheres cajun spice mix in this salad dressing.


One tablespoon of flaxseed oil
One tablespoon vinegar
Spices to taste

I use this to flavor whatever meat and then add the meat to the salad or veggies.

You may well want to use fishoil caps instead of the flax. For some folks there are greater benefits. There is a flavored fish oil product called Coromega. Excellent product. It comes in individual packets.

I feel for guys that fish oil is better. If caps don't bother you then Carlsons makes a variety of products. Very high quality. I am a retailer and sell both, as well as the flax. For older folks, say over 35, fish is a good idea.-Valerie

is everyone on the same page here? I think some people are referring to fish oil, from what it sounds like, no? to me flax has no taste whatsoever.


Is it true FLAX can be beneficial to joints, I have always heard cod liver oil was good?

Well I've just been mixing it with a little milk and chugging it. Getting used to the taste a little bit more. What is surprising me is how much better I feel now that I've been taking flaxseed oil compared to when I don't. Does anyone else experience this ? I think I'll be taking Flaxseed oil forever.

I actually like the taste of Flax.

I love it in my brown rice. Very good on any beans, too.
