flax vs fish oil

That's why I said "If you were to have a single source of fat "
(ie you follow a very strict diet)

But in our diet we have a couple of sources of fat (oil, meat,....) which have a too high w6/w3 ratio, hence the need for Omega3 supplementation

:supercool

BAM!

He hit the nail right on the head.

you guys say 15g a day. Is this for a typical person that weight lifts and is trying to improve their physique, but is not a body building nut, or a body builder that competes? Theres a lot of stuff I have been noticing that people suggest which seems pointless or even somewhat radical for the typical person.

Assuming your talking about fish oil?

Oxidation of Fatty acids as a result of intake and general improvement in other metabolic areas is very good for anyone. The more fish oil you can take (within reason and given price concerns) the better.

I just bought some emulsified fish oil (emulsified seem to have the highest epa and dha content) and man is that shit disgusting.

whats worst is that they put a mint flavor. I did not realize this until i tasted it and read the ingredients 'casuse it did not say anything about flavoring on the front label. It also has 11g carbs which is a real downer. I'm going to look for a different kind with less carbs.

I know it's fish oil, but do all of them have that nasty fish taste? It just doesn't go well with my breakfast shake.

Yep fish oil have some kind of fish taste ;)

It is even worse than flax seed oil (which can have a slight nutty taste)

The average western diet is so totally out of wack with the Omega6 to Omega3 ratio that I will have to disagree with that comment. The ratios are as much 16-1, hence the need for Omega3 supplementation, or so I was led to believe. Why would I want to add MORE omega6's?

Exactly what my food+nutirion professor said

I take caps...fish burps are even worse although keeping caps cool seems to help with them.

caps are more convenient but also a lot more expensive :(

BTW do you buy them at a local store or on the internet ?

Vitamin Shoppe, usually online :)

You're not afraid that the caps might be exposed to high temperatures during storage/shipping ?
