Don't knock all running. Yeah a little jog around the block won't do anything, but find a big hill that takes 30 min to climb and run it HARD. When you get to the top, your legs will feel wobbly.
Or, run a dozen 400s all out on the track with 200-400 jog breaks in between.
Try either, and tell me how your ass feels the next day.
I took all of your advice and did a leg/hiney workout last night.
I did 3 sets of squats 10 reps each, managed to start with 45's (hey gotta start somewhere), then added nickels.
Did leg extension to exhaustion...going down in weight each time I couldn't get it up, not sure how many reps I ended up with, but I was certainly burning and wobbly when I got off to go to the hamstring curl machine and did the exact same type of set.
I ran out of time for the dead lift - will add next time. Much pain in the behind both last night and this morning ..ooh GOD does it feel heavenly
