It takes years to build a good base. Now that might not be something you want to hear, but its true. You will have much more success once you have a solid base to run off of. You have to get your diet to a T. Quality muscle is built with time+knowledge, like on how your body responds to training, and food. It takes time to see how your body responds to different training. As far as food keep it simple, get rid of that protein powder shit and start eating chicken, tuna, eggs. Eat 6-8 meals a day. I've seen people resort to roids thinking its going to be a miracle drug that will get them swole in no time, it doesn't work that way. Remember muscles are built in the kitchen. The amount of calories depends on your body size. But no matter what to put on weight you have to be eating more calories then your burning. And the average calorie consumption is 2700-2900 per day for the AVERAGE male. So your intake should be much much more. I'm 5'5 and 155lbs and i consume 4000-4500 calories a day. Keep in mind everyone is different you need to find what right for you.
