This whole thing hits home a second time for me. I'm mormon, and our church was attacked viciously after Prop 8 passed, even our ward houses and temples were vandalized. Every mormon was automatically labeled a gay-hating bigot and they started saying that the mormon church teaches you to hate gay people. On the contrary, if you know anything abour mormon doctrine, that couldn't be further from the truth.

Your church didn't get all that shit just for being Mormon and supporting traditional marriage. They were justifiably criticized for actively funding opposition to to a law that simply gives equal rights, while claiming tax exempt status.
Political activism by a 501C3 organization is illegal.

Just think what a dent we could put in the deficit if Romney AND the Mormon Church paid their fair share of taxes.
