Fiancee expects me to pay for her gas. Yes/no?

I think its a no brainer, why wouldn't you fill up her car? If you want her to get a job and she needs to be driving to interviews.

Me thinks the whole story isn't being told.

Even when we were boyfriend/girlfriend for 5 years and engaged for a year there isn't anything I wouldn't do for my girl.

It sounds like this is more a problem of the fact that she expected it than the money itself. That is something I can understand.

IMO, you need to really get use to the money being community money. Otherwise you got a real problem coming your way.

It all depends on what shes using the funds for. If your giving her money for "gas" it should be known that it needs to be spent on gas, not on tips, or snacks, or anything else. It also depends on how broke she is. Can she still afford her gas and shes just trying to save money by having you pay for? if so, I say let her manage her financial situation untill she can no longer afford it. Thats when you step in since you will be getting married.

If you are giving her money for gas or anything she should already be living a "no frillz" lifestyle. Otherwise, even if your money goes to the gas tank her money goes somewhere else, so you are just supporting her other spending habits.
