I don't normally post my gym experiences (unless it's about a chick taking herself out on the stair climber), but my confidence is increasing and I want to share. :)

My squats are coming along VERY well and very quickly. I'm not sure what I'm doing differently (It's probably something mental), but this last week was GREAT! I'm only using 255lb (3x5) right now, but the guy who normally spots me thinks I can try for 265, maybe 270 in the next couple of weeks. YEAH! Squats have always been one of my better lifts, but it's never felt this good before. I'm super excited! Given that I don't get injured any time soon, I can feel a PR around the corner. :garza:

(Now, if only I could get my bench up to par.)
 
at first i was like uhh 225 isnt a lot. but then i looked at your gender and your a female. thats really good.congrats, you should be proud.
 
You're right 225 isn't a lot, but I'm using 255 (and getting stronger.) :)

Only recently (back in July) did I return to lifting hard. I've always made sure to keep my legs in decent shape over the years so I had a base to work with. When I started pushing myself again I was using 205lb (blah), but I'm not trying to compete here. I just want more size and strength prior to joining the Sheriff's Department.

no no no, i thought when i first read it 225 isnt a lot for a guy cause i assumed it was a guy. then i looked, realized you were female and was blown away. thats a lot, trust me most men cant do that. great job!
 
Thanks guys. :) I don't think I've ever been this pumped about my improvements before. Everytime I move my legs (still alittle sore today from lifting on Thursday) :) I get excited all over again. WOOOHOOO!!

My stats? Which ones?

My goals are simple (they were set back in July): gain 15lbs lean muscle mass and increase my strength by 30% by the end of the year.
 
awesome shit, i wish I could squat!!!!! that is some good weight, yous hould see the amount of lil guys in the gym I work out in that work out with half of that, AND they have terrible form!!!
