Fedor wins easily...
i wouldnt say easily, if i was putting money on it i would go with fedor, but you cant deny arlovski is a hell of a fighter and will make him work for it

Agreed...I think Arlovski is the best guy out there to give Fedor a run for his money.

very true. arlovski is just a very good fighter, i have always liked him, good, technical strikes, great kicks. people were saying there were issues with hisn chin, but since that, he has taken some bombs and carried on, so i dont think it can be that bad.i know he has submitted people, but i havent seen much of his ground game yet.
oh yeah, and he needs to shave his shoulders.

Who has Arlovski beaten to give someone the impression he has a prayer of winning? Any decent striker Arlovski has faced has KO'd him. Someone adept at cutting off a ring can crush Arlovski in standup. Fedor's striking will absolutely overwhelm Arlovski in my opinion.

You'd think Fedor would have too many tools for Arlovski to deal with.... But the fights do not happen on paper, and sometimes opponents' styles have certain quirks that can throw off another particular fighter. Anyone can make a mistake. That being said if I had to lay down money it would certainly be for Fedor...

Sorry to go off topic here, but Shootabiggs, I LOVE your avatar.... Carter's homerun vs the Phillies in '93 brought tears to my eyes.... I was still living in Toronto back then. :) It was quite a fun street party following that championship.

Fedor is a fucking animal. He should nicknamed the iceman not chuck lidell (respects for chuck) THe guy comes from russia that's fucking cold right there, just as fedor's face cold and heartless. I would love to see Fedor vs Couture that would be interesting...

come on, fedor chasing couture round the cage on his zimmer frame?

The reason I say that is because Couture always studies is adversaries and comes up w new stuff to the fights even at old age. Eventually Fedor would win because he is way to overwhelming for anyone to stand a chance.

Couture is an ideal opponent for Fedor. From a promotional standpoint, you have two of the best heavyweights fighting for top heavyweight honor which creates a lot of excitement. Second, Fedor has looked his weakest fighting guys who are good in the clinch and have top heavy grappling styles. Arona almost took Fedor in Rings, Randleman laid a slam from hell on Fedor, Mark Coleman took his back in their first meeting, and even Mark Hunt gave Fedor problems by voiding Fedor's clinch.

Agree with everything you said (usually do). Couture is great at studying opponents & figuring out a way into their armor. Having said that, I think Fedor is a wrecking ball and would overwhelm Couture. Second to Couture, I would like to see Fedor vs. Josh Barnett. Barnett doesn't really look like a fighter, but he is underrated & also very dangerous.

I think Couture still has a chance to work him on a clinch and probably on the ground and pound, like the time Couture neutralized Ortiz but couldn't finish him off, other than that it's all Fedor's game.

After seeing Hunt v. Fedor, I have to wonder if Fedor neglects his half guard and sidemount defenses. Hunt almost Kimuraed Fedor from sidemount and Hunt is not a submission machine. Beating guys down in half guard and sidemount is a key in Couture's game. The problem for Couture is getting there of course.
