You guys have songs that you like to "cruise" to (you know, drive around town)? I always get certain songs that I like driving around to because they make the ride feel more exciting or whatever.

current crusing song:

The Cramps - Surfin' Dead

killswitch engage-my last serenade
shinedown-45

I had Pearl Jam's Alive and Porch going recently. They're good to drive to.

I don't have many albums that I enjoy listening from begining to end. It's usually 2 or 3 songs per album. I make alot of mixed CD's

Word PJ great driving music my pick would be Daughter however. Add Dave Mathews, The Hip, and pretty much anything but the radio since it sucks most of the time.

some of the best IMO-
George Thoroughgood - One whisky...
ZZTop - The whole freakin Deguello albumn
Van Halen - Gotta love it when Hot for Teacher comes on

There are tons more, but those are three of my all time faves for driving...

In town: any good rap or fast rock.
On highway/freeway: Beck's Seachange album, Tom Petty, anything more laid back.

you know, for reason, there are alot of "mellower" CD's that I enjoy listening to at home, but not while I'm drving. I prefer something faster, I guess it goes well with my driving.

Can't think of any particular songs that I like to have on while driving. I usually just grab a disc I want to hear or am in the mood for.

XM is pretty decent. I wasn't interested in it at first, but it got appealing when it had the radio that can go into the car and home. Makes finding music to listen to on road trips easier.

Credence Clearwater Revival

Around the Bend is an awesome driving song.

QT: Like sorearms said it's satellite radio. Coast to coast music. They have genre stations, that'll play the genre 24/7. Anything you could want from the radio and more is on XM.

Satellite radio. It's from Direct TV, thats why you canuks haven't heard of it.

No, it's not from Direct TV. XM is it's own company, as is Sirius satellite radio.

Just an FYI, and I'm really sorry to report this, but 'cruising' is the term homosexual men use for looking for random sex. There are certain areas around DC known to be good for 'cruising.'

Yeah, I'm really sorry that term now has that connotation. Right along with on the 'down low,' 'queer,' and 'gay.'

And my poor, poor uncle Roger who worked as a fudge packer in Hershey, Pennsylvannia.

takes one to know one!

seriously though, that hasn't hit L.A. yet (that I'm aware of). I'm pretty sure that cruising still means cruising over here.

i can always cruise to tool and APC......lately i've been playin the first NERD album

Bout time someone mentioned Tool. I personally love cruising listening to the "anemia" album. Trust me a nice warm night windows down blasting "Stinkfist" doesn't get much better than that.
