That's exactly what I'm getting at.

I think men are biologically driven to go after hips (for birthing), boobs (for feeding young), etc. etc. It all comes down to being able to produce and sustain offspring.

I think women are biologically driven to go after the ability to produce and sustain offspring as well. There are clear biological indicators for men that women cue on (i.e. shoulders to waist ratio).

But at some point mother nature decided our offspring were better off if the guy stuck around. That's where the man's streak (and it's only a streak, at best) of monogamy comes into play. That's why women don't go into "heat" and also why men have virtually no idea when their mate is ovulating. Did you know researchers have proven that a man's mate getting pregnant lowers his testosterone levels?

So I think the underlying biological drive in women to seek-out security is probably well-intended.

Now the other situation, i.e. $700 heels, extravagant vacations and piles of purses might be a perversion of that underlying security drive or it might be something completely different -- I don't know. It's like those guys who like crapping on a girl's chest or being peed on. That might have an underlying biological drive or it may just be something crazy.
