Hit legs lastnight, was feeling awesome on my squats so the last set i decide to see how many times i can hit 500lbs. Instantly afterwards i get the weird feeling in my upper left butt cheek and know it's not good. i finish up my leg workout anyways. I woke up lastnight about an hr after getting to sleep totally paralyzed in the postion i was in, my fucking lower back out again. no kidding it took me 20 min to get it stretched out some so i could decently walk.

what pisses me off the most is i had just finally gotten over the last time this happend, always from back squats. i guess i'm stuck with front squats for life.

seems like no matter what i do, my lower back stays weak as fuck

how do deads treat u?

since my last injury i hadn't done them waiting for lower back to get 100% again....the wait will continue. i may actually start doing them extremely light to see if they will build it up stronger this time.

squats where screwing my lower back up also. i now only do 20+ rep sets ass to the floor with no shoes on. this is what i have done for several years now with no injuries at all.

i do deads with a close grip and wide stance for the same reason. my back is good.

so you havent been deadlifting to let it heal 100%, but youll put 500 on your back and do squats??

i have the same problem but they say it is b/c i was born w/the L4 & L5 fused (only found out after a car accident in my mod-20s)...and the doc said it is very common and the bros he sees with either front or rear squat issues often have this condition.

it's the position really. after the first time i started doing front squats and liked them but didn't like how i couldn't go as heavy. last week i did back squats, it didn't bother me at all so this week i went heavier. deads just seems to hit me right where it bothers me, right at the top of the left ass cheek and over to the spine. my sound strange but i know

i get hit right in the same spot with muscle spasms, kinda sounds like what you are experiencing. Really painful and hard to move for a few days, then it loosens up and suddenly your back feels alot better right? could be alot of things, form, weaknesses, etc..

dude you're squatting 500 for reps?
fucking stout bro, esp for your bodyweight and nattyness.
belt and wraps or raw?
either way fuggin awesome

raw, i only did it once. i was repping 415x6 for two sets so i thought it would be ok to go up for one rep.......i was wrong:mad:

You will eventually have to give up leg weights. Good back feels better than strong legs IMHO.

I feel your pain bro. When I woke up last Tuesday i was questioning if I would ever lift weights again.

Well, the pain subsided and I actually trained legs yesterday. hack squats, bulgarian split squats, calves, and hypers. No back pain what so ever. Only sore quads and abductors. I think my pain is stemming from taking my squats all the way to the floor. When i squat ATG my low back tends to round in the bottom. It is hard not to squat so deep when it is the only way you have squatted. I am going to start back squatting light and just to parallel next week. I will probably stay with high reps for a while.

Oh....All last week I stretched my hips and piriformis quite a bit more than normal. I did some foam roller work and myofascial release on my piriformis with a tennis ball. This seemed to help loosen things up, but take it easy. I would hate for you to get even more hurt from my reckless advice :)

I wish you would limit your lifts and not go past 315 ever ( for body building purposes)

yeah I know you guys will shit on me :) for saying that

MW you remind me of Str8flexed ( Layne Norton) , he was super strong and did not limit his lifts

then he pulled his entire pec from sternum to delt and it was barely re-attached
I URGE you to not make his mistake of going for it too much ( if your a bodybuilder)

LIMIT your lifts and opt for mroe reps as your form of fatigue

Some of the best quads I have ever seen never saw over 315lb on the bar when squatting.

I do ATG squats with 245 and I have 5 thick stretch marks on my upper left thigh from the last 2 weeks alone. They are growing just fine. I keep doing more reps and not more weight and they keep growing and creating stretch marks like crazy. 10 lbs/month increase is all I am doing on squats, and increase reps rather than weight. I have seen remarkable gains in the 2 months I have been squatting weekly.

I could rep another 100 lbs going to parallel but what's the point? I'm going for size, not strength and size is plentiful with higher reps on squats.

Of course, if you are a powerlifter this is about the most ridiculous thing ever.

It's what works for me.

.

The Best chest I ever saw ( i mean better then Arnolds)

NEVER EVER Benched past 225 but he did about 5 sets of 25 with Extreme control ALL PEC

He did that and low Incline flys and that was it.

he was a Ex Bodybuilder about 255 6'3 and told me it took him years of injuries to finally "get it"

Also his chest was not Genetics, he built it from the ground up

yes i went homo, i told u that last time we chat'd

Well how have things been since, i had to go a few times to mine before i was good to go again. I really need to get aligned again soon from all the heavy stuff ive been doing.

The KING of squats!

mwm, i hope you'll be alright bro.
you have a killer physique already that most won't ever achieve.

I'm loving the foam roller lately. SouthernLord, I think we were separated at birth.

for legs, i only go heavy on deads. everything else is form and time under tension. high reps and long sets build leg mass.

mwm5,

Have you ever tried reverse hypers? You can approximate the movement even without specialized equipment. I have seen a number of lifters with backs prone to injury make their backs fairly bulletproof with this movement. Something to think about, and good luck recovering.

That could be truly the shitiest squatter I have ever seen. The form was bad about 137 different ways.

And WTF is all that bouncing at the end? Either rep it or rack it.

Christ, to top it off he has a bleached mullet.

agreed dave. he had the best legs in bodybuilding. i only posted that vid cause i was in a rush and it was the first one i could find. i've heard he could rep 225lbs over 100 times in a row.
