I do the grocery shopping in my family. Mrs Longhorn gives me a list and I get the stuff. Usually I get extras too, but when you're in a hurry like I was today, which checkout line will move the fastest?

Experienced shoppers know it is not always the shortest line that moves the fastest...

old people never buy too much at once

they can't carry it all

a few cans, meds, peace out.

beware teh check-writer.

i always stash shit i put in my cart that i no longer want
recently i was in walmart and i picked up two packs of hanes white tees
when i was in the tuna isle i decided i no longer needed two packs, i ditched one pack behind the canned chicken.
fuck walking all the way back

i always put my stuff all the way back where I got it, but I like to get high before grocery shopping and viewing the whole store as an adventure. i always stop to see/play with the guinea pigs and hamsters

That's cool. Here in Portugal they have bars inside the grocery store. I usually have a beer or two first right after work, then it's on to shopping and banging carts with football moms.

i avoid the grocery store all together on the first three days of the month. . .when all the welfare muther fuggers are there. . .spending my hard-earned money. . .makes me fuggin' sick. . .

lol bars at the grocery store? That's my kinda world.

I don't know how it is in portugal but here in the US, wal-mart and other companies have self check out lines, which is what I do every time, assuming there isn't a long line for that (which there never is, people are too lazy). I didn't see that as a vote option.

Having a bar in the grocery store is the best idea ever.
I also like it when there are bars in laundrymats.
I don't think we have those in the US. We should. I'm going to open one.

sorry, you can't. There's like, laws and permits and shit, that you would need that would never allow such a great business to occur.

Unless of course that you sold food there, like a restaurant/bar/laundrymat.

I've been to one like that as a child...they had a pretty sah-weet video game arcade as well.

What kind of law would prevent mixing washing machines and liquor?
I could open it as a bar - get a liquor license - only advertise it as a bar - but put in washers and driers.
Maybe it could be like a deal - buy a pitcher and get a free wash - that type of thing.
There has to be some way that I can make it happen.

see my edited post above, I recalled my childhood memories, so yes it could be possible....

Look I consider myself a professional at the grocery store, I was employed there 40hrs a week from 14-18. The fast clerk is always the way to go. My friend, an old lady and I could check people out 3 to 1 over the other checkers(also the speedy people will sometime miss things just to keep their numbers up). My friend could put an entire shopping cart through faster than most checkers could do 20 items.

As for the guy getting high and going shopping, that is the best. Important to make a list or you will get home forgetting half the things you need though.

Sweet.
I am so doing it.
Seriously, every college town needs one.
I don't understand why there aren't any here already.

lawyer/laundrymat/bar owner?

lol

it's a decent concept

how are you going to have time to manage a business like this?

Also, a small side note.....the one I was talking about has been out of business and changed ownership about 5x throughout my life. The college town thing though...that might be the key....property near/on campus is always notoriously expensive though....

Oh, good idea!
I didn't even think about adding legal services into the mix.
This is going to be the best business ever.

I could do it in California
They're probably going to open like 3 more UCs
I just need to predict which town the next one will be in.
Or in like Lexington, West Virginia - cheap college town.
I am so on this.

Yeah, that should have been an option. Amazing how most people don´t want to try and use them. Anyway, you see those at electronic stores in Portugal, but not at grocery stores.

The bar is cool, I always look forward to picking up a few items after work. :)
