Hey bro I just got 405 for the first time the other day. I was stuck at 385 for like three weeks. I never did 390 395 or 400 I just went for the four plates every time after pulling the 35's One day it just went, you just have a day when it feels good and you'll get it if you are that close. Here is what I lifted on the days when I tried. I am not recommending it, It is just what my body was used to so I stayed with it. If you have been doing the reps you stated just keep doing it and you'll eventually get it, it also helps to give you a consistant measure of how close you are. Anyway here is what I do:
45lbs x 10 just the bar
135 x 10
225 x 6
275 x 3
315 x 2
345 x 1
365 x1
385 x 1
.........
405 x1 and did it feel good when it finally went!
...... finish my workout now
315 x 6
275 x 6 pausing each rep on my chest
225 x 6 10 seconds to take each one down
........ then move on to incline and decline
Now you see why I don't recommend my workout I probably wear my self out before I get there but I finally got there so fuck it. That was the way I felt comfortable getting there and getting my self ready for the heavy lift. I also always take the bar off myself which is probably costing me a little bit but once again I am the one pushing 405
Anyway good luck you will get there just stay focused and lift hard and let us know how it goes.
by the way I am 5'7'' and about 188lbs so if my shrimpy ass can do it you can too!
