Then turn around and leave. One of them days where your body just tells you to fuck off. I knew I should have taken the day off any way, but I just didn't want to. Then when I started my sets I almost fell asleep.

its good for the joints and cns. i implement it as needed, especially during times of injury.

When I have one of those days, I usually catch up on some much needed stretching, or go for a slow distance run. The big thing for me is to make sure I leave on a positive note.

if you don't have it, its best to save it for another day.

Yeah, I think the fact that you made the effort to go and then leave after 5 minutes triggers something in your head that makes you come back 100x stronger the next day (unless you are truly sick then its whenever)

Well my son is going to be starting football soon. He asked me if I would take him running in the morning. I used to run in the morning in the army for years, but have not don it in like 4 years.

I told my son ya sure as long as you wake me up early I will take you running every morning. My thinking was if I took the kid for a good long run just one day he will never wake me up again.

Fat chance of that. He wake me up at 8am the first day,7 am the second day,6am the 3rd day, then 5 am the 4th day. Finely I had to set a time for him when he woke me up at 5am the 5th day.

I thought for sure he would quite b the end of the week but this kid just keeps going. Now Its finely taking its tole on my energy threw out the day.

I want to keep running with the boy but now I have to adjust my sleep and training to keep doing this with him.

day like that I try to at least do one good 5X5 of a compound exercise
and the say fuck it

i feel like that today, i'm hoping once i get home a pop a few lipo and amp i get some energy. lack of sleep>me right now

YA I have already. Its been easy because the extra running has been making me hungry as fuck. That and the eq I am using

that was your conscious mind telling you to get in the gym... and as much as we would like to keep on training on the same intensity, we must still listen to what our body is telling us.

when was the last time you took a day off?

Most of the time my body tells me this because I spend so much of my time either sick or depressed but when I get to the gym I ALWAYS feel better. I do the best I can with the energy I have. I don't train to compete anymore. For me it is about consistency. If I don't make it to the gym 4 days a week, I lose strength, stamina, energy and state of mind.

Those kids can be pesky buggers when they want something! LOL

Old man!!!!

this is really sweet! and you're kid is motivated.. good for him!

If i'm at the gym.. i'm gonna do something.. but i'll adjust my level of exertion to suit my mood/strength that day.. if every work is gonna bust my chops i may think twice on tired days.. but the leeway helps me continue the working out habit.

Nice, yeah I usually can gain weight when I start doing heavy cardio because of the appetitie increase.

Yeah bro...last night, actually. Got back home after a long flight and I was wiped but I was committed to getting a good workout after slacking on vacation because the hotel gym wasn't worth shit. Anyway, I knew as soon as I started that I was out of gas... ended up just scrapping it and doing some sets of the perfect pushup just so I wouldn't feel completely useless.

had one of those days today. Started benching and the guy spotting me told me about his two shoulder surgeries and showed me the scars. I'm having some pain and range of motion issues w/ right rotator so I called it quits. I have appt w/ doc on Monday so I will let it rest rather than make it worse b4 I see him.

i get chronic migranies, and generally, will force myself to go to the gym regardless of their severity, but probably once every 2-3 months, will puke because of the migraines or feel like collasping while squatting, and will then normally go home

Yes, I started with abs, and when I found myself falling asleep while laying on a matt, said, no, this is stupid, and went home and slept.

:)

Definately have done that. As I'm walking out the owner of the gym normally just tells me because overtrain anyway and shouldn't be there

Not a plug just real advice. Get with nelson for his product (vigor). My wife has big time migraines. She has had them for years and this has been the only thing to help them. That and q10.

thanks - i will give anything ago. I wasted $700 on botox recently

ive had plenty of these days but my training partner usually just bitchslappes me into doing it, which is a blessing some days and the worst thing over other days

oh yeah. i'm a mechanic and some days it's damn hot in the shop and if i've been really busy, like doing a transmission or engine, or heavy suspension work, the last thing my body wants to do is any kind of extra weight lifting. i guess i should get help lifting those new transmissions out of the box but i dont' want to wait on anyone so i just do it by myself. deadlifts at work!
