Ever feel sorry for...

bfold, I can totally relate to what you are saying. And I should have learned from the last time God helped me out of a bad time(lots of them) in my life I should have learned to keep talking and thanking him for the good times in my life. But have confort in knowing when you are tested you are growing in character for His work.

I think pinapple devil(should be angel btw) brought up a very good point that God will do what it take to bring you back into His fold so to speak.

Don't feel guilty bro. God created man (not my beliefs, but stay with me here) in his image. So, in theory, He'd be doing the same thing. Asking for help only when in dire need.

Something else to think about ... ?

But in all seriousness dude, I don't think you should feel guilty at all. Sometimes all you can do is pray.

I always feel kinda sad when people say things like "I'll say a prayer for you tonight." Why wait until you're ready for bed to talk to God? I talk to God and pray all day long! I truly always feel Him with me.

I always say a prayer of thanks for what I have or for answered prayers too...it usually helps me to put problems into perspective...

I hope you find then answers you're looking for B Fold.

:)

I feel the same way...

But there are times when I have felt guilty about pushing God to the side and only talking to him when I want or need something...but I think that many people go thru that from time to time...it doesnt mean you are a bad person...it means that you should take that as an opportunity to grow in your relationship with Him.

:)

"I think of GOD even when I'm not praying..."

Quoted by our Minister last Sunday from a child's letter to God.

Personally I also think of Jesus and GOD all through the Day.

Sometime I'm thinking about or questioning things I do, or want to do, and asking for guidance or forgiveness and strength.

Sometimes I'm thinking about GOD in relation to other people and wondering if he will show himself to them.

Sometimes I thank Jesus for little things out loud like if I find a lost important item or if something potentially bad turns out OK..

Be glad that you are turning to Something to give you strength when you need it, and resolve to give thanks more often for little blessings as well..

God will do whatever it takes for him to get your eyes on him. I went to chruch yesterday for the first time in a couple years and I loved it. I realized how much I missed it from going all the time when I was a kid and a teen until now. Some people only talk to God when they need him and push him to the side when they dont. Thats when he does what he has to do to get your attention again.

I went to church the other day for the first time since I was quite young (about 12 or 13) and as soon as the service started, it struck me just how mad the people there were.

I was amongst a bunch of zombies. Zombies that had been conditioned to believe complete nonsense.

(E.g. Priest: "Give thanks to the lord", Congregation: " We have all sinned and shall truly repent, We shall give thanks!")

It really was quite scary. I used to thnk that Christians were a bit smarter and normal than the other religions that believe in Elephant Gods and such, but no, I was wrong.

Sounds like you need to visit a few other Churches.
There are many that teach what it means to be a Chrisitian so that it makes sense in todays modern world...

I left the Roman Catholic church as a teen because of the Ritual nature of the Mass. Same thing week after week for the most part. People reciting without knowing what they were really saying.

No, I pray in good times and bad. I have known to thank God in prayer even when I successfully merge onto traffic. :D There are some crazy drivers out there. LOL Seriously, I wouldn't feel guilty for praying at certain times...God loves you no matter what. :)

Well over in the UK, we have a show called 'Songs Of Praise'. It tours different churches every week and broadcasts a service. Each church this program goes to is exactly the same as the church I visited, if not worse leading me to believe that the vast majority of churches are like this.

You should never be ashamed to talk to God. I pray 3+ times a day and always thank him for what he has blessed me with and ask him for help in the areas I'm struggling in. I've had the long, hard, tearful prayers when I felt he was the only one that was their to listen.

I would probably feel guilty if I only prayed when I needed help, just like I would feel guilty if I only called up a friend when I wanted them to do something for me.

I know many people lose faith when their prayers aren't answered. I have struggled with that myself. But sometimes it's just not the right time for that prayer or it's not what God had in plan for you.

Another thing many people forget is that the bible never says that if you believe in God there will be no hard times in your life. Your faith is truely shown when you follow God in good times AND IN BAD.

Your a good man B fold. Ever think that God brought you to Elite to motivate hundreds, if not thousands, of people to achieve their goals?
