Heck I had NOTHING i repeat NOTHING going on tonight, so I knew tonight would be perfect for going. Got an hour of cardio in, quality cardio on the elliptical at a fast and tough pace.

Maybe tomorrow I will do a little cardio and then lift later. Provided Alias doesnt interfere with my working out tomorrow.

I think I have it down somewhere. Saved on a document burned on a cd somewhere lol. Forget cardio? are you kidding me, why do such a silly thing like that? lol. I would do it for health reasons if nothing else, but cardio also helps to lose fat (to make me look better).

I have a philosophy that goes like this: Get the Six-pack, then put on the muscle. (Since I can do a pretty good job of adding muscle without gaining fat) I can't get the six pack until I lose the fat first though, so that becomes top priority.

My only comment is lift your weights then do your cardio, it is more efficient.

CC was 200lbs at one time - look at her gallery!!! She literally worked her ass off so I doubt she'll give you the time of day until your posts read more like;

Ripped arms out of sockets again today - duct tape held them in place as usual for the last 40 sets. Ran out of cotton balls for the nose bleeds during cardio, so I was slipping and sliding on the treadmill. Eventually, after the first hour or so the blood congealed and gave me more traction - great burn! ;)

Maybe I've never been extremely overweight before, but I do know what its like to work hard and get into shape, believe it or not.

Here are some pictures of a transformation I made in about 1 year. I ended up staying the same weight, at about 165 lbs, but I changed my body a lot. lost a lot of fat and gained a lot of muscle.

I smith squat 185 for reps. I usually get one of the big black guys to spot me.

But I think lifting is for pretty boy fags, and should not take priority over cardio.
I will still lift, since it has some health benefits (but not as many healthy benefits as cardio.) But cardio will take first priority.

I personally believe that I will lose more fat, if I lift a little and do a lot of cardio, than if I lift a lot and only do a little bit of cardio.
And losing fat is where its at right now. I'm not going to worry about gaining muscle, until i get the sixpack first.

yea, i suppose. maybe i shouldnt have worded it like that.

i do cardio to look prettier, but also because its healthy. I guess I just dont like it when people just want to "get more muscular and look buff" but dont care about any other aspect of their health.

Basically everyone guy at my college tries to hit our weight room at school a few times a week. However, I would say that out of these guys, probably only about 10% of them do cardio, lol.
And its the exact opposite way with women. They all do cardio at my school, by running outside or something, but none of them lift.

I just dont understand the people who lift but dont do any cardio. shit, dont people care about their hearts at all?

Lifting can be cardio if you want it to. Do speed work with 20 second rests between sets and tell me how your heart is doing.

losing fat can be all from diet, if you want to starve. If you want to make the experience more comfortable though, I would think the better way to do it would be through doing more exercise and just having a minor caloric deficit (vs no exercise and a major caloric deficit)

Ask any one with a Ph. D in the medical field and they will definately vouge for me that cardio brings about more health benefits than lifting does.
Of course, the best thing to do is: do both.

if you want to get a really good cardio workout, and a really good liftin workout in, my approach is that the best thing to do would be to keep them seperate.
That way while you are doing your cardio, you can solely focus on making your heart rate high, whereas when doing your lifting you can focus solely on making your muscles tired.

Overall, lifting has more benefits than cardio.

Lifting: increased muscle mass, decreased fat, elevated testosterone, and yes, a healthier heart usually.

Cardio: fat loss and heart...

The only way someone can be ripped, and just lift weights, is if they have a good metabolism or if they like to hardcore diet.

I am neither of those. Therefore, to be lean, I need cardio (cuz I would rather not limit my diet to vegtables and turkey)

I dont care if being lean with less muscle makes me less desirable to the women. I've decided that its the look that I want, which matters more. I used to think that looking good for the ladies was all there was to working out, but I'm starting to see that our own defination of beautiful is more important than other people's definitions.

You need balance between lifting and cardio. Just like anything else in life. Ying and Yang. Black and White. DUSTY and tybz28-#2.

I post on this forum because I find it entertaining to read other people's threads. Lately I've been having a shortage of willpower, so I havent been training, but at one point I definately was a hardcore fitness dude (that was how I found these forums).
I plan on returning to the state of being hardcore fitness. But I cant just jump into it, it has to happen my way.

In anycase, I thought that my value as a character on this board, had to do with more than just the fact of whether I am currently working out or not.

But go ahead and diss me Golden, since its the popular thing to do on here.

I know this. I did cross country running my senior year of highschool. I dont bike that is a waste of time, lol. I do either elliptical or treadmill or running outside. I always make sure to give myself a pretty good workout.

Look, if what I am doing doesnt work, then I will discover that, and I will have to change my plan.

Look, I'm finally starting to realize something. Its not entirely about what girls want. Granted that matters somewhat, but I've decided that I'm not going to let girls mold me into who they want me to be.

I'll be what I want, because 'I' decide its healthy, or good for me, etc.
