Oh and why do I need a handgun ? For the same reasons you need an internet connection: to have fun...

handguns are nice to have for sport, which was my main intent behind getting one. in the Marine Corps, i was only trained to shoot the M16, and our training was extensive. not everyone got trained with the 9mm, however, and i always felt cheated by that (you have to be an officer or a high ranking enlisted man to carry a handgun, and certain military jobs "rate" a handgun). as soon as i could afford one after getting out of the marine corps, i got one. besides sport shooting, i also have it for personal protection. there's a lot of people in this world that are a lot crazier than i am. why should i become victim to one of them?

i hope i never have to use it for personal protection....EVER. anyone that owns guns and wants to use them (for anything other than hunting) should not own guns. those types of people are the ones that will go looking for trouble, and if they have a gun, it's only going to make things worse. just my opinion, of course, but if you're buying guns and hoping you have to shoot someone, chances are you will put yourself into a bad situation unnecessarily so you can use it.

I see no fun in having a hand gun. I don't deny someones right to have one either. I just don't see the point myself. When would I ever really need one...
