Elite Member Dies - BusinessWeek to publish expose

I for one am afraid that the publicity that Elite Fitness receives from Business Week is going to be nothing less than blame for the death of Eric Perrin. I'm also afraid of what that is going to mean for the future of the Elite Fitness discussion boards. When I first decided to use steroids, the boards were the only place I could get all the information I needed to grow safely. If it weren't for these boards, there is no telling what kind of drugs that I might have used and in what doses. And I in turn pass along all the wealth of knowledge I received from the boards to everyone I know that uses and I direct them to the boards so that they too can make gains without risking their health by injecting fakes or overdosing. Without being educated about these drugs, any one of us might have ended up just like Eric. I have nothing but praise for George, the moderators and all the iron brothers on the boards. I hope Business Week doesn't do anything to jeopardize the site. In my opinion, the death of the boards would be just as tragic as the death of Eric Perrin. I will mourn the loss of an iron brother - may he rest in peace - and hope that this tragedy doesn't cripple the Elite Fitness boards. May everyone here continue to carry on their great work.

George,

Im going to flame you now..!

This is a cut from your letter:

one realizes that Perrin was a disturbed recreational drug user with very poor self-esteem. He had a polypharmacological approach to his recreational drug use and experimented with a great many substances. In fact, Perrin's postings indicate that he used ecstasy, speed, GHB, crystal methamphetamine, Xanax,
Valium, anabolic steroids, and Accutane.

What do you mean by the last line? are you saying A/S are in the same catagory as x, meth, speed etc..?

Just becuase the fda in your country are fucked up about as that they make them a class A, is that really a reason to class them in the same place as hard drugs..?

This has left the bodybuliding comunity open to fire that yet again AS are unsafe, and a danger to all who use then when this is not the case.

The blame is with the individual not the drugs, for one i cant understand anyone who would use such strong thermogenic drugs. Whats wrong with a diet it seems that people seem to rely on drugs rather than hard work.

I am around alot of people who compete here in the uk and none of the people i know have used DNP, most do 250mg of sust with a little deca every 10 days and diet hard. If your not competeing there is no reason to use DNP and if you are competing your a fucking mug for playing with something so lethal.

Stick to test and deca and your basics dont fuck with stuff you can OD on...!

George's letter was well thought at and an appropriate "open" letter to the BW reporting staff. On many occasions, they will "already have the story written" - that is, from their perspective - and they will run what they want to run.

I for one, was fascinated by a recent diary involving the use of DNP, mainly as I considered the possbility of its use to cut 10 lbs off me. After watching, reading, and asking a few questions, I was dissuaded from its use.

The risk to benefit ration was too high for the results I would get. In this case the EF information and community provided the information I needed to make an intelligent decision.

If Mr. Perrin was a "garbage" head, who put anything that he could get his hands on (GHB, X, crank, etc.) into his body, on top of AS, DNP, etc. then the result was predictable, though unfortunate.

I know his family will not find peace in our responses, but they must look at the environment they created and the standards/morales they set for their child which would lead him to behave in this manner.

Best of luck...

M1KAI, I cannot speak for George. However, I believe that his inclusion of steroids in the sentence to which you refer serves to imply nothing as to the "category" of drugs to which steroids belong. Rather, the inclusion simply serves to illustrate Mr. Perrin's aforementioned "polypharmacological approach to his recreational drug use."

he also listed Accutane in there also. but obviously its not in the same catagory as x or meth. i believe he was trying to show all the various drugs Perrin had claimed to have taken, showing his recklessness.

the kid sounded pretty reckless in his posts.

...and f..ked up in his posts as well... Some people just don't see any limits... I strongly hope some people will learn a bit from it...

A good friend of mine died suddenly memorial weekend. justin henderson was his name. he was only 22yrs old. He was also taking dnp. he was working at gnc in north pittsurgh and collapsed and died instantly in a crowed store. he was a very mild gear user. this game is dangerous. i never realized how dangerous it was until now, 5 years later and i know several people who have died and several who have hepatitas. i hope its worth it in the end.

Man...Just starting to get back into the game and all this attention.... first Caminiti now this. My condolences to the Perrin's. Great response George.
