Well, as the previous post says, that's my last post of the day, giving me 13 total. And, on the basis of the following rule, I submit that I have the most posts that count as legitimate entries in the competition:

to weed out any funny business your post characters need to match the hour of the competition
e.g. a 13th hour post needs 13 characters,no less no more
smilies count as one character

Note that the criterion is that the characters are the same as the hour of the competition, not the hour of the day. So, for example, back on page 4, where 4everhung posted "lap5" between 10 and 11 a.m. central time, the required number of characters was 5, as in my/perkele's posts of "Hello".

Rules are rules, and they must be followed.

Semantical. The hour of the competition could very well be the same as the hour of the day. There is no specified criteria mandating that it be numbered one to twenty four. And as specified in the quote the function of said rule was to defeat automated responses or other tricks that would allow someone to post electronically instead of personally. The letter of the rule is vague and I have met the spirit of the rule as well

One further note.

It is pussy'esque to try to win an endurance competition on shady rule interpretations. It was clear from the beginning that the other competitors weren't even trying to match the rules. But they were competing anyway and no one made a stink but you because they were obviously present and not playing games. Thats what people who wish to compete, even in a silly game, do. They don't play attorney.

All in all though I'm not going to argue over a game

..Bumping toprevent getting buried.

if you want I'll review this entire thread and rule on it as an impartial observer.

let me know

I posted in 22 of 24 of the hours of the competition. I believe the closest was cynical who claimed 14.

I win

You asked that the number of characters reflect the hour of the competition, which I took to mean the hour the post was being made. It is consistent with the language of the rule. Never did you state that they needed to be numbered one to twenty four. There is no contradiction between my posts and the specified rules. You also stated that the purpose of that rule was to avoid cheating by having the posters adhere to a numbered posting system. So I met the purpose and spirit of your rule as well.

To recap

1) I posted according to and in compliance with your rules.
2) I had the most posts , one per hour, which was the point of your competition.

Lastly I note that although it was apparent to me that others like Perkele were not posting in compliance with the rules never did I make a stink about it. They were competing and posting once per hour as you asked, and I didnt try to save myself work by claiming some pussyish rule violation which was only intended to prevent their cheating. I continued posting long after I could have claimed victory by such a cheesy claim. I think cynical (who I should call syntherol from now on) should in the future actually do the work instead of looking for some quick fix victory without working.
I'm entitled to the prize in full with no "spilts" to humor a guy who not only did not do the work, but tried to cheat the people who actually did and competed honestly.

Do it bro.

I also suspect Phenom doing some cheating.

Why Perkele. Check my other posts. I posted in just about every hour on other threads on c & C with few exceptions. Even if you took out those exceptions I still posted multiple times on a number of threads every hour of the competition except for the last few where I only got up to post on that thread.

It was supposed to be a fun competition. It is only an issue because someone is trying to get over. Instead of competing they try to be clever. But in this case he has no case. If you are going to try to win on a technicality, then it must be technically valid. His is not. It requires a specificity that 4everhung never outlined, and technically I met his rule.

Or just follow simple rules.

Hopefully 4everhung will tell us what he meant by the rules, and others will look over the thread to give opinions on whether they were followed.

I did follow the rules. According to them you lost

are we going to arbitration?
my gut feeling is phenom is the victor
and besides he has considerably less stash than CS

looks like this was already settled.

I think the character count for the posts was not explained wel.

For me I would have counted the first hour (6am to 7am Centra) to be the FIRST hour and a smiley (one character) would be the only scoring post.

I didn't go through and score everyone because this was settled, congrats to Phenom. You were there at the start and finish.

LOL. No hard feelings, dude. It just depended on how strictly 4ever and others thought that addition to the rules should be interpreted.

Now get some sleep...you've been at your comp and/or setting your alarm to post for the last 24+ hours. :p

ahahahahah. Sorry I snapped at you. I will tonight.

for the record I followed along somewhat
from the start it didn't appear as anyone was being true to the rules
so I let it go
props to CS for actually interpreting the parameters right
however, he noticed early on others weren't and decided on a course of action to exploit it
announcing his victory some 10 hours early
having done the math
that was cool too
