to weed out any funny business your post characters need to match the hour of the competition
e.g. a 13th hour post needs 13 characters,no less no more
smilies count as one character
Cynical Simian said:Well, as the previous post says, that's my last post of the day, giving me 13 total. And, on the basis of the following rule, I submit that I have the most posts that count as legitimate entries in the competition:
Note that the criterion is that the characters are the same as the hour of the competition, not the hour of the day. So, for example, back on page 4, where 4everhung posted "lap5" between 10 and 11 a.m. central time, the required number of characters was 5, as in my/perkele's posts of "Hello".

Phenom78 said:Semantical. The hour of the competition could very well be the same as the hour of the day. There is no specified criteria mandating that it be numbered one to twenty four. And as specified in the quote the function of said rule was to defeat automated responses or other tricks that would allow someone to post electronically instead of personally. The letter of the rule is vague and I have met the spirit of the rule as well

I also suspect Phenom doing some cheating.
Phenom78 said:Instead of competing they try to be clever.
Cynical Simian said:Or just follow simple rules.
Hopefully 4everhung will tell us what he meant by the rules, and others will look over the thread to give opinions on whether they were followed.

Cynical Simian said:LOL. No hard feelings, dude. It just depended on how strictly 4ever and others thought that addition to the rules should be interpreted.
Now get some sleep...you've been at your comp and/or setting your alarm to post for the last 24+ hours.![]()
4everhung said:for the record I followed along somewhat
from the start it didn't appear as anyone was being true to the rules
so I let it go
props to CS for actually interpreting the parameters right
however, he noticed early on others weren't and decided on a course of action to exploit it
announcing his victory some 10 hours early
having done the math
that was cool too
