Eff Doctors

AFeedz

High End Bro
Platinum
So I got my wisdom teeth out Tuesday, no big deal.

Except at the consultation before, my doctor tells me it looks like mine will be simple yadda yadda.

But apparently there were complications, so here I am, 6 days later, with the right half of the roof of my mouth totally numb, which my doctor says may or may not be permanent and an increasing new sinus problem that he tells me I'll possibly need another surgery to repair.

For real, bro?

What can I help you with?

shoulda just left dem teef in there

Lol I can't. Before surgery they obv make you sign all this stuff about knowing the possible complications yadda yadda.

So you went in knowing there was a possibility of complications?

Sorry 'bout your luck Chuck. Things don't always go as planned.

Yeah obv everything has possible complications but he was all "they're so rare. This happens to like 1% of people and blahdee blah blah blah"

I made up that percentage cuz I don't know what the actual number was Lol Point is he basically said it wasn't going to happen.

Also, shut up Chris. :)

He doesn't do general dentistry, only oral surgery. Either way, he's still an asshole in my book.

Last time I had my teeth cleaned - I did it in Rosarito Mexico, by a retired Dentist who recently retired there from San Diego. She told me X-rays generally aren't needed either. She said you can see most cavities with just a mirror and there's no need to pay for an Xray if your not really having any problems. I paid $25 for a cleaning.

That sucks Annie! I am so sorry. I feel weird when my mouth is numb for a couple hours. Does it look okay when you smile?

I've never had a dentist tell me they needed an X-ray of a cavity. I've also never had a cavity, but they thought I did once. Didn't take an X-ray though.

And I have dental insurance so my teeth cleanings are free anyways.

Oral Surgeons are not real doctors? Man, you are so pompous! Great doctors open their minds, just saying....

Yes Oral Surgeons are REAL doctors. Oral Surgery is the holy grail of dentistry. After 4 years of dental school, they have to go back and get another 5-6 years of education which includes the education of medical school. Oral Surgeons are the ones who reconstruct someone's jaw after a bad accident-- basically, they are the bridge between serious matters in dentistry and serious medical (including trauma) issues.
But if Chris took his head out of his huge ego for 30 seconds, he would have know this.

here is the definitaiton of doctor, just in case the concept escaped you: oc·tor (dktr)
n.
1. A person, especially a physician, dentist, or veterinarian, trained in the healing arts and licensed to practice.
2.
a. A person who has earned the highest academic degree awarded by a college or university in a specified discipline.
b. A person awarded an honorary degree by a college or university.
3. Abbr. Dr. Used as a title and form of address for a person holding the degree of doctor.
4. Roman Catholic Church An eminent theologian.
5. A practitioner of folk medicine or folk magic.

Next you're going to say Vets are not really doctors too!

Thank God, no. I couldn't smile for a few days because my cheeks were so swollen. It's the roof of my mouth that's swollen, not my lips, so I smile fine now. If he'd fucked up my smile I'd be way more angry.

I have insurance too, which covers 1 set of Xrays and 2 cleanings a year, however my normal Dentist tries to gouge me for everything. Last time i went in - I had to get a little nasty with him because he wouldn't shut up about some $55 oral cancer screening that I kept turning down.

He also always tries to get me to do a deep cleaning, which insurance doesn't cover and they charge like $300 per quadrant.

The dentist in Rosarito is our neighbor, so I decided to give her a try.

You take everything so literally! Knowing that I put your panties is quite entertaining though.

Allow me to educate you. The word doctor comes from the Latin docēre which means "to teach". Consider yourself doctored. :)

Get a new dentist. Mine never tries to get me to do any of that bullshit. I only followed his advice to get my wisdom teeth out bc they were causing problems with some other teeth, and because I was afraid my teeth would go crooked.

Thankfully insurance covered that too. I only paid $145 of the $2400 it cost.

My panties are in order, believe me! And yes I know what it means, I'm just surprised you do!
Anyone can get a degree, but good character is not as easy to come by.

Good lord woman, my brother is a dentist just beacuse they can do reconstructive surgeries or any kind of surgery doesnt mean they are equally comparative to a DR and as Afeedz said her's doesnt do it, most of them need special training above the usual degree in order to be dental surgeons, so no, not every dentist is a Dr. by that logic braces tightening orthodontists are Doctors *shivers* lol xD

A dentist in Costa Rica doesn't count. Here in America you go to school for Dentistry as opposed to CR, where you just squat in an abandoned dental office.

Pass on the pics. Lol. I can't open my mouth wide enough to take any right now anyways.

Thankfully my face is pretty much back to normal though. :)

Yes, only a doctor who works in a hospital is a doctor! No one was comparing professions! Read again what I posted "woman"
yes, I love his amazing wife, but that doesn't make a man kiddo

In other news...

If anyone's trying to cut they should go for it. I lost 9lbs. in the past 6 days. Lol

That is what you get for using a pretty doctor that rubbed your boobs while you slept.
