bucket of murphy's oil soap and warm water.... use a sponge mop

or a swifter battery operated duster with the hardwood floor solution

I can't remember the name of the wood stuff we use, but only mop with a damp mop not too wet or your wood will warp. I don't even mop weekly because I am scared of too much. I just keep it swept and mop it gently with damp mop like every 2 weeks.

Buy a stack of white cotton washclothes at Costco for 9.99. They are really nice and you get 20 of them!

Get a container of warm water and add to it a *little* plain white vinegar. Change water solution and cloth often when it gets dirty.

Get down on your hands and knees and go to town like ATW's clip showed :p . They thing is to not let any water stand on floors. Sometimes I dry them with another cloth.

Then throw the whole load in the washer and bleach them. No Downey of course.

If you stay on top of it...there should never be a need for deep cleaning like this. Just spot cleaning and dusting as you go.

HTH!

Great tips too Jon! I love that stupid Swiffer but am too broke to keep buying the solution. My kids like it too though. It's fun and smells good.

I  how a nasty thread turned into a homecare thread. :artist:
