Dumbass Customers

Lady comes into my store. And very specifically orders two smaller units of my product. Me and my boss explain to her that a whole will only cost $10 more. Basically doubling her order. She says no and insists on her original orders of two smaller units. Her last words as she leaves are "I think I just made a big mistake."

Then this morning I get a call from her husband and her both on speaker phone asking why we didn't I form his wife about the difference in products (the smaller units are one line and the larger one they originally bought was another separate line) I informed them that we had tried to give her options but she insisted.

Then they brought up how they were never going to use my product again and were unhappy and asked if they were stuck with what they had purchased. I told them yes they were since it had been specially made and made per what you the customer ordered.

Since working retail I have come to wonder about the state of people and their intelligence levels. The average iq of people that I deal with has got to be in the 70 range. Nothing against retarded people at all, they are not what I'm referring to. It's the folks with jobs, drive themselves and have the nerve to make an adult decision in the face of reason and facts and still have the balls to blame you for their fuck up. Then demand to speak to your boss and demand more free product.

Paint if it makes a difference. I take great pride in helping people and make sure they have what they need to get the job done. But this is not the first problem with these folks. At this point I'm pretty sure they are so idiotic they shouldn't be able to drive.

The customer just walked up to the counter matter of factly told us what she needed and the finish of the product. We gave her options and she again insisted on her initial order. So we made her exactly what she ordered.

The customer is not always right, but they're always a customer.

Working in retail I tend to agree, people are fruitcakes.

she knows damn well what she did, but it's not like she's gonna tell her husband the truth and get beaten

Somewhat unrelated, but I always like it when customers thank me for my time or effort. It's a great chance to remind them that they are the only thing that stands between me being a gainfully-employed member of society and an unemployed bum who happens to have nice suits.
