I'm actually buying goats this spring. They are easy to keep because they can graze on anything. Making them easy to find food for if hay isn't available, even in harsh winters. My problem is I don't know what kind of goats to get. Some goats are better for milk (yuk). But we could learn to like goats milk in certine situations. I primarily want meat goats. But both would be good to have around.

Boer Goat. A good meat goat but not very wll addapted for harsh winter conditions.

Pigmy Goat. Good meat goat. But not much meat. Would need lots of goats.

Saanen goats. Great dairy goat. My neighbors have these. I will deffinitly buy a few of these. A buck and two ewes.
