Drinking milk while on a diet?

Sebby

Have any of you guys read anything about drinking milk while lowering your BF? I understand that milk contains lost of cals, but I've come accross some articles that suggest that milk helps in lowering your BF. What have you guys heard?

I'm interested in the answer as well. I'm a veg, so milk is a good pro source. I would hate to have to cut it out...Ang

milk sugar = bad = not a good idea when trying to cut down

Basically, the milk sugar will raise your blood sugar while the dairy in general will bloat you - most people have some type of an allergy to a form of dairy.

Interesting point, I also block out milk coz its sugar. YET, Ive also read that not just becasue the carb is simple to mean that its worthless. Its all very distant to me now, but I believe reading that lactose isnt all that bad, just like fructose isnt too bad either.

What's wrong with lactose ?

Galactose I guess
Why would it be worse that glucose ?

If you're taking in interest in what you eat and your body then when isn't a person "dieting"?

Anyways - I have about 1 cup of milk a day with my shake and probably 1-2 cups of fat-free cottage cheese a day. That said I don't (with constant exercise) find it any more difficult to stay in the single digits as far as BF%.

Avoid milk when cutting. It makes your skin look puffy and contains extra cals and sugar you dont need.

Drink your milk if you are so adamant about it. You're waiting until you hear what you want to hear, and you ain't gonna hear it here! Mr. X said it sucks, I know it sucks, but do what you wish brutha, to each his own.

Mr. X, and Dr. Swole.

I'll accept the fact that milk doesn't fit into a cutting diet, but I would like some further info to help understand why.

"Basically, the milk sugar will raise your blood sugar while the dairy in general will bloat you - most people have some type of an allergy to a form of dairy."

Bloating is temorary, correct? Why can't you eat dairy up until...say..the last week or two of your cutting cycle? Also....if sticking only to a moderatly low carb diet, would the 24 carbs from low fat cottage cheese that accompany the 52 grams of protien be any different than other carbs?

Thanks for all your help.

Actually I have reduced my dairies intake
:)

I am not saying that milk is good, I just whant to understand why so many people say lactose sucks

I am drinking 1 tall glass of milk in the morning . BUT it is NO FAT MILK . It contains only carbs and protein , so it is low cal .

I am losing mad fat . So , if it is not helping it is also not interfering .

I drink tons of milk. Only skin (no fat) and I drink about 3.5 - 4.5 glasses a day. My brothers drink the regular milk but after being on skim for so long it tastes like cream.

Hood Carb Countdown... do a search for it. Tastes badass, it's sweetened with sucralose. 8oz of the chocolate flavor has 12g protein, 4.5g fat, 2g net carbs.

I believe the weight loss touted by the dairy council is from the calcium not the milk per se. That being said, I get massive amounts of calcium and magnesium from my milk protein isolate without the lactose and fat. I'm one of the unlucky caucasians with a mild case of lactose intolerance.

What exactly is bloating anywhow. I always feel and look bloated.

Is it water that is retained in your intestines?
