Dow closes above 14,000 for first time since 2007

in any normal presidency under normal circumstances the administration would lavish praise on themselves for this....kind of funny they can't. But it is a stark reminder how divorced wall street is from the rest of the country. Until they fuck up of course, than it's on us.

Wall Street has decoupled itself from Main Street.
That's the whole point of the last four years. Companies are doing well because (in order):
1) They've globalized their presence and mitigated single-country/single-currency risk (particularly US risk).
2) They've shed US-based employees in favor of outsourcing and automation.
3) They've mitigated their tax exposure through globalization and shelters.
That should be the game plan for any competently-run company with exposure to the US market (and for the most part it is).
