Not unusual to get a seizure twice in a row if you are doing 'international'. BUT - you should do a quick risk assessment before you order. Because if you don’t, you are talking about LOSS of money; LOSS of products ordered; and ultimately, visit from the LAW. Not all internationals are the same. Every order done and received successfully is determined by different factors:
- The most obvious - is where is the order coming to? Every country is different in terms of how strict country custom/border rules & regulations are. For example, you reside in Europe - you have a better chance than for example getting orders through to America. America is very strict...say compared to EU countries.
- What mode of shipping is your order coming by? It is such an important factor. Hardest is AIR-FREIGHT. If your order is coming through Air-Freight, then there is a lot of legal paperwork and red tape that needs sorting out before it can be cleared for you to receive. Under certain circumstances, you have to have a C&F (Clearing and Forwarding Agent) to clear your shipment. This means the invoice is scrutinised by several people as it goes through the chain of travel. (The reason why people use air-freight as apposed to 'Normal Post' and 'Private Courier, i.e. DHL; FedX; TNT; UPS; EMS; list is endless) is because it is the cheapest and you can transport any weight (useful if is a large order). But like I said earlier, paperwork is very strict in relation to Air-Freight, especially making sure that the Tax Duty is paid................... Listen, if you want me to go and explain further, please email me and tell me exactly what you want to know as I can go on for a long time as the factors that determine if a shipment is successful getting through Local Customs is determined by so many factors. There is no point me explaining if you are not interested!!!!
