Does Marijuana ruin lives and entire societies?

meh...
weed is no worse than alcohol

No mind altering substance is completely good for you.

I have smoked weed almost everyday for the past 17 years.
I never miss work
I'm more on point, when stoned
I don't smoke before, or during work

I would consider myself upper middle class

Without weed, my life would be reckless

I'm not in favor of people with kids getting drunk in front of their kids or spending the rent money on booze, either. Just because alcohol causes equal problems doesn't mean pot is A-OK. I'm not against the legalization of pot. I just think it is a sad crutch that is destructive and unhealthy. So, is the cheesecake I just ate, but I won't go there...lol.

i agree. oh and if you ever eat cheesecake without me again were gonna have problems woman....

you and I sound pretty similar. I could live without weed, and have for extended periods, but if I could choose between life with weed or without, I'd choose with hands down!

...lol...i have a 4 flavor variety pack right now. chocolate, rasberry swirl, caramel apple swirl, and plain.

Moderation......... that's the key.

There is no question that pot has ruined some peoples lives. Like Heather says, it can be a crutch. However, like Lestat says, some people are responsible enough around weed, and have no problems with it at all.

I know for a fact that my parents smoked when I was a child. They loved me, cared for me, in all honesty they were the best parents I could ever ask for. They provided me with everything I could ever ask for as a child, teen, and young adult. Now of course, my parents weren't reckless with it, and were the ones in control of the weed, not the other way around. They also still manage a successful dental practice and my dad teaches courses on TMJ pain at the local dental school.

I was first introduced to weed, in 6th grade, by my brother, who also turned out to be a doctor. I've never tried a harder drug than pot nor do I have any desire too.

Personally, I would way rather get stoned than drunk and if, god forbid, I ever had a loved one with an addiction problem, I would rather their addiction be to MJ over -OH.

When people use drugs(or anything) to fill a void in their life, then problems can arise.

thanks for your thoughtful contribution jock strap! :)

I don't know. Don't do it... A health worker guest speaker at work today said that marijuana is as addictive as cigarettes.... I don't know about that.

We were told the reason it isn't legalized is that the drug lords would fight against it. Don't know about that either.
