Does everything happen for a reason in life?

Hi All,

Many times you hear people say that things always happen for reasons that are only explained later in life. Do you believe this true? I've hd some blessings in disguise like breaking my Back in a work accident 10 years ago that took me away from a world of misery and sent me on a fantastic journey through University, travel, relationships, and new friends. And it all stemmed back to an accident......

Does everything happen for a reason?

Yes

For example, I think it was good you met and lived by that Iraqy who you fought with night and day. I predict someday you will meet again, and bury the hatchett. Then, share the rest of your life with you as your life partner.

I do believe everything happens for a reason.

I look back at my life and smile and know that I am me and I am where I am today because of all that has happened to me in the past. So yes everything does have a reason

I was a total party boy, moved to the beaches of San Diego after college, worked at a big-time party club, started taking that big downhill slide. Some bad stuff started going down so I moved back East, my life changed 180 degrees for the better, like yourself, advanced degrees, nice office, decent life...focus on fitness and health, and rarely party.

So yes, very much.

Bro, you got to milk that shit!!!

I sucked at football, broke an arm or shoulder 3 yrs straight. I got 10 times more action from the ladies. I even wore my sling long after it healed!!!!

My friend had knee surgery, and had to wear those large metal braces. Up to 3 yrs later he would throw it on before we went out to get some punnannie

You need to come up with a funny story. I used to say I saved a kitty out of a 4 story burning building...etc

The term "hooker" implies that sex will actually take place. The term "aap" doesn't imply the same thing (*cough* virgin *cough*). ;)

hahha

can someone explain what "everything happens for a reason" means? or what's the concept behind it? it's kinda obvious that if slept with a hooker and got aids the reason behind it was sleeping with a hooker? what good is that for?

aap is a dangerous ladies man!!

Don't you know a gang leaders hot latin gf threw herself at aap? And, aap broke his arm kicking the ass of 8 gang members who jumped him. Because, thats the way he rolls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Yes, it looks like she is throwing herself at you again with that playground teasing.

I bet she can't wait to be the first to..."sign your cast"...If you know what I mean

LOL. Are you the pot or kettle today?

aap, didn't you lock yourself out of my and Jen's room. You were nervous then, and I wasn't throwing myself at you. I can only imagine what you would do if I was throwing myself at you. ;)

delete this before awitty sees it. I want him to think I am cool.

It's one of the silliest fucking things I've ever heard. You can't be too smart if you believe that.

It was karma because you were mean to some people in the EF picture thread you started.

The direct answer to the question is yes, simply because I can't think of anything that can happen that is without reason and equally anything that can't happen that is without reason and anything the mind cannot fathom then that is the reason.

Fate though, a predestination where all things gone before and to come are meant to be, that an event already exists in time waiting to happen leaves more questions open than it answers.

Fate is basically the occurrence of an inevitable event, something that was bound to happen, meaning that there is a probability of something happening (accident, illness, life event etc.) to a person throughout the course of his/her life. So fate can be described as a sudden meeting with statistics and realization of that fact occurs in the moment.

To suggest that something was destined to happen in that moment would be to say that every minor detail was programmed into that wave of existence. All obstacles that change and divert the path of the future must then have been put in place before as time travels in only one direction.

The next event can only exist in the moment of conscious and subconscious sensory data that is the now, that very second that came and went is no longer and is swallowed in time frozen exactly as it happened. When we turn away from the now and look back over that field of past its easy to see prominent events as memory markers and quick points of reference when reasoning from experience.

So events that pass over the line of now have no energy, no activity, they do not carry on happening rather they are replaced by a never ending directional flow of sensory data. Therefore the only logical conclusion is that nothing happens for a reason because we have no control over the past and to say that it happened for a reason is to say that it was already programmed into the future which means that we then also no longer have control over the future. We have no control over anything than the now because there is no fact or cause that provides logical sense for a premise of occurrence that can happen at anytime. It just happens.

I think statements like that are what people tell themselves to let them feel good about life... or give them hope.

If you are alive and happy now, then yes, every single thing that has happened to you has happened for a reason right?

People always want a way to explain things, to create certainty in an uncertain world.
