Does bigger calves=more strength?

is this a serious question?
i have big calves, but that's genetic. They aren't especially strong.

big calves means that a person has big calves.
nothing more.

I think big calves often indicate that the person has a large structure capable of building and holding a lot of muscle mass.

technical term for when they go all the way down is cankles.

just fyi.

are there calf raise competitions??? if so how much can people lift with them. any vids?

I can do at least a 1000. Machine at gym only goes to 400 so have to load the plates on top, "pain."

i have medium size calves, but strong as fuck. I think they are around 16.5-17. Would like them to be around 18-19+

mine have pretty decent strength in them as well, yet on the small, medium side. would love to get them up to the 15-17" range.

ronnie colemans calves were never very big

I was referring more to normal non-lifter people you see out in public. Assuming they're not outright obese, the dudes and chicks with huge calves generally look like they'd have been good at powerlifting had they pursued that path.

I don't know if it makes me more stronger, but I'm hella explosive. My calves have always been big and I hardly do weight exercise for my calves. I've build them through tons of road work, footwork drills, and a lot of jump rope exercises. Everyone tells me I have great calves....they stick out.
